Title: Ruling? Post by: mouth on July 31, 2009, 02:06:42 PM Apologies if already covered on here, I have checked through and can't find it so here goes.
Liverpool Gala (Leos) £50 double chance, 11 players left and they're on the bubble, playing hand for hand, when this happens. Seat 1 UTG pushes allin for 30K (7 BB), seat 2 then goes allin (has seat 1 covered), folds to SB who finds a hand and puts his hands on his head, saying OMG. He then stands up and is standing behind his chair while leaning on it, to make the decision that may cost him his tourny life. Girl in Seat 2 (not me!!) then reaches over the table, picks up the SB's cards and throws them in the muck, saying "Your hand is dead, you left the table". Card room managers ruling was that the girl in seat 2 acted correctly as the SB had officially left his seat. Opinions? (Again, apologies if already on here somewhere, please point me in right direction so I can see existing thread) Title: Re: Ruling? Post by: Cf on July 31, 2009, 02:10:38 PM already seen this elsewhere. will just copy the post i made previously:
How on earth has she managed to "muck" the hand? What the fuck is the dealer doing? He should have control of the muck pile. What i'd do: If you can identify the cards, or if the player can name the exact two cards, make every effort to get them back. The decision to call or fold can then be made. The girl who tried to foul his hand: A warning isn't enough. I'd be tempted to go for outright disqualification, but I feel this is a bit too harsh, at least for a first offence. I'd go for a penalty, and given that I think this is quite a serious breach of the rules, bordering on outright cheating, I'd go for at least 20 minutes. Title: Re: Ruling? Post by: BulldozerD on July 31, 2009, 02:19:27 PM I'd just go LOL WTF
Title: Re: Ruling? Post by: gatso on July 31, 2009, 02:24:01 PM manager rules that picking up anouther player's cards and mucking them is acting correctly? wtf
go and play somewhere else imo Title: Re: Ruling? Post by: TightEnd on July 31, 2009, 02:26:07 PM Ask player to identify his hand to you, try to retrieve them from the muck
Disqualify Player 2 Dismiss cardroom manager, post comp investigation as his relationship with seat 2. Possible collusion Appoint RichEO in his place Title: Re: Ruling? Post by: doubleup on July 31, 2009, 04:18:31 PM Presumably the cardroom has some sort of rule about hands being dead if players leave the table, so: TD is a fck idiot for thinking this rule applies in this situation. Woman is a fck idiot for touching another players hand (fights have occured over this) Player who stood up is a fck idiot and drama queen - its a £50 freezeout ffs Dealer is a fck idiot as he should just have replaced the cards in front of the player and told woman to gtfo The best ruling is for all involved to sign a legal document stating that they will take nothing to do with poker ever. Title: Re: Ruling? Post by: boldie on July 31, 2009, 05:49:44 PM Yuck, just yuck. Just how shit is this casino?
Call the Gaming Commision and have them close the place down. Title: Re: Ruling? All of the above work for me. I say if a fella did this he's outside before the cards touched the muck, particularly in Liverpool. Place hasn't been the same since Cliffy the cardroom manager left - the others try but Cliffy called a spade a spade. On no, sorry, that's the reason he was sacked - what I meant to say was Cliffy ran the cardroom well. Title: Re: Ruling? Post by: pokerfan on July 31, 2009, 11:27:32 PM GG
Title: Re: Ruling? Post by: thetank on August 01, 2009, 03:07:18 AM Ruling seems fair enough to me, but I would have given the small blind a time penalty for taking the Lord's name in vain.

Post by: relaedgc on August 03, 2009, 06:36:45 AM Disqualify the player that mucked the hand of another player, for sure.
I wouldn't retrieve his hand out of the muck, though. |
