Title: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Post by: celtic on August 03, 2009, 04:42:34 PM £150 pot limit comp at luton last night. 4 tables left. Average 12k. I'm on about 16k, villain 17500. Blinds 400-800. He makes it 2100 from 3rd position, 8 handed. Luton reg but one of the better ones.
I'm otb with 10h 9h and call. Sb & bb fold. Flop is 7h 10c kh. He bets 3500. Is this is a shove? Call with position? or just fold pre? Title: Re: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Post by: celtic on August 03, 2009, 04:47:54 PM Will add I've been at the table with him approx 40 mins. He has been involved in 4 hands, the only one that he showed was laying kk on a j 10 9 board to a pot bet from joe grech.

Title: Re: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Post by: Cf on August 03, 2009, 04:52:19 PM I probably fold pre myself, but now you've seen this flop it's absolute magic.
Shove/pot it. Don't forget to put one hand in the air. Title: Re: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Post by: Longy on August 03, 2009, 04:54:17 PM Fold pre you are too shallow to be calling here, lack of implied odds, not closing the action etc.
As played raise a pot committing amount, with the aim of getting it in. Flush draw and a pair is massive here. Title: Re: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Post by: outragous76 on August 03, 2009, 04:55:35 PM i ship ( i think you have about 900 back but obv never passing)
my only concern is that he didnt raise the pot pre or posr flop which is unusual - what raise did he make with the kk? I also think you can call this pre in pot limit with position unlike those above Title: Re: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Too shallow and miss too many flops to be calling imo so fold pre but now we have called it couldn't have came out much better so pot it imo. Title: Re: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Title: Re: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Post by: action man on August 03, 2009, 04:58:39 PM fold pre!
once you called, what flop exactly are you looking for, if u dont feel comfortable playing suited conns post-flop fold them preflop Title: Re: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Post by: outragous76 on August 03, 2009, 05:04:22 PM i dont think this is too shallow in pot limit - he has 20bbs - and there are no antes (obv wont be) - therefore he is effectively deeper
you will see alot of pot limit players calling these type of hands in this spot with position Title: Re: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Flush draw and a pair is massive here. +1 fold pre for all those reasons. Also, wtf u flop gin and are not 100% happy to go w pair+fd with this pot to stack ratio? dance monkey dance!! Title: Re: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Post by: riverdave on August 04, 2009, 01:44:16 AM Lol at thread pretty horrible call pre reraise or pass. Once you see flop how can there be any other play than shove.
Title: Re: sigh, i got myself in a mess. Post by: ALASKAN5IVE on August 04, 2009, 01:00:22 PM You have four options imo -
a - fold pre (score 10 points) b - re raise all in (score 7 points) c - call (-10000000000000000000000000000 points) d - call pre, then fold flop (/end life - advance to abatoir) obviously pass the two cards you got dealt back to the dealer and then stare him down are the people talking about peeling pre being +ev because of it being PLHE and there being no antes leveling? surely must be imo..................... |
