Title: I give up Post by: The Camel on August 05, 2009, 05:03:50 PM I just lost 9-8 in a game of table football to 2 three year olds.
And I was trying. Title: Re: I give up Post by: GreekStein on August 05, 2009, 05:05:51 PM At least Michael Owen didn't score all 17 goals
Title: Re: I give up Post by: Laxie on August 05, 2009, 06:02:54 PM You were outnumbered. Demand a re-match.
Title: Re: I give up Post by: The Camel on August 05, 2009, 06:14:04 PM You were outnumbered. Demand a re-match. They ran off celelbrating like they won the fa bleeding cup. They were eating ice lollies before I got the chance to ask for a rematch and they weren't allowed to get the table all sticky. Title: Re: I give up Post by: TightEnd on August 05, 2009, 06:15:53 PM Four hands are better than two, however small
I assume they split up one child for goalie/defence, the other for midfield/attack and literally passed you off the park Title: Re: I give up Post by: The Camel on August 05, 2009, 06:19:45 PM Four hands are better than two, however small I assume they split up one child for goalie/defence, the other for midfield/attack and literally passed you off the park Indeed, those were their tactics. They kept spinning their men round despite my treatise that was cheating. It isn't perfect strategy, but when they connected, the shots from all angles were unstoppable. Title: Re: I give up Post by: gatso on August 05, 2009, 06:34:06 PM you def win by default if they were spinning
Quote Rules consider "360-degree shots" or "spinning" (using the palm of the hand to swiftly spin the bar all around, instead of using wrist strokes to kick the ball with a bar-mounted figure) to be illegal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_football#The_sport Title: Re: I give up Post by: The Camel on August 05, 2009, 06:37:15 PM you def win by default if they were spinning Quote Rules consider "360-degree shots" or "spinning" (using the palm of the hand to swiftly spin the bar all around, instead of using wrist strokes to kick the ball with a bar-mounted figure) to be illegal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_football#The_sport I'll just have to wait 4 years until they can read this article and then claim my win! Title: Re: I give up Post by: DaveShoelace on August 05, 2009, 06:40:29 PM challenge em to an arm wrestle, that should restore your pride.
I really really overcelebrated when I beat a 9 year old at darts a few months back, all the other adults looked at me in disgust. Title: Re: I give up Post by: The Camel on August 05, 2009, 06:45:57 PM A nine year old would be clear favourite against me at darts, which would mean my celebrations at victory would be completely justified.

just exacted complete revenge by beating the grusome twosome 9-2. When I started celebrating wildly my gf called me a "sad old man". I replied that I was the furthest thing from sad! Years from now that moment will be repeated in a therapists office by your son and will be interpreted in such a way that you will become a complete tyrant of a father who would never let him win at anything.... :D Of course if you let him win it would be interpreted as having a father who never challengd him and never gave him inspiration to reach any goals.... ::) No pressure Keith ;D x Title: Re: I give up Post by: Colchester Kev on August 09, 2009, 08:07:40 PM You know my Dad never let me or my Brother beat him at anything ... Chess, Table tennis, snooker etc etc ... but I tell you what, the sheer buzz that you get when you actually beat him at something is worth its weight in gold. You know that you have earned victory and that it wasnt handed to you.
I tried to be like that with my boys ... but they kicked my arse at everything at a much earlier age than my brother and I ever managed !!
