Title: Help Needed Please Post by: Dubai on December 05, 2005, 09:23:38 PM Apparently if you are not a US citizen your money maybe withheld if you draw in a tourny unless you have a tax treaty.
From The Bellagio website- "Residents of foreign countries without a U.S. tax treaty will be subject to withholding. " Can anyone confirm this and if so how do I go about filling in the neccesary forms/documents. Thanks Title: Re: Help Needed Please Post by: 12barblues on December 05, 2005, 09:42:50 PM Disclaimer: I am not a tax specialist.
I think there is a current UK/US tax treaty in place i.e. agreed between the two governments. I presume this means that the US will not tax any winnings by a UK player as they agree to leave it to the UK to apply UK rules, i.e. no tax. I don't think you need to do anything as you will be automatically subject to the treaty. Title: Re: Help Needed Please Post by: julian on December 05, 2005, 09:48:41 PM hi dave,
i think all you need to do is get an 'ITIN' number & that should mean you can take all your winnings - the management at the bellagio cardroom are usually pretty helpful. Title: Re: Help Needed Please Post by: Robert HM on December 05, 2005, 10:04:55 PM There was a warning on the forum somewhere, probably Harry D, about "agents" who help to sort out you tax and forms for a %age, they are to be avoided.
