Ignoring the fact that despite being on the button multiway, our idiot Hero (not me or Joobs) has flatted the button with a Queen and a Queen, how would you play this hand now? I see this quite a bit, massive flop donk overbets on interesting boards... Title: Re: Interesting hand from the $11 DeepStacks on Stars Post by: $muszlesz$ on August 15, 2009, 07:40:49 PM so u just call on the button here ??? surely u must 3 or 4 bet here
Title: Re: Interesting hand from the $11 DeepStacks on Stars Post by: KarmaDope on August 15, 2009, 07:47:24 PM Yes, I know this lol. However, the way the hand plays out later on is directly related to the stupid flat call preflop by the guy who's hand it was (not mine lol), hence why I'm asking what you would do in this exact situation.
Title: Re: Interesting hand from the $11 DeepStacks on Stars Post by: boldie on August 15, 2009, 07:54:11 PM noone takes you for this big a hand now..get them all in the middle..and start up a new tourney whilst cursing yourself for calling on the button.
Either that or just fold it and curse at yourself for calling on the button. Title: Re: Interesting hand from the $11 DeepStacks on Stars Post by: $muszlesz$ on August 15, 2009, 08:09:49 PM lol misread that u had put it wasnt u...the standard of play in theese 11 dollar deepstacks are terrible to be fair he probably would of still got this much action if u 3 or 4 bet pre because they think they have 100s of bbs and a half hour clock

Not really, you could flat and fold the nasty turn. You could re-raise to 2k and then put your remaining 3k in on the turn when he flats your re-raise and checks to you on the turn. You could re-raise to 2k'ish and call or fold when he shoves his chips in the middle. I am thinking that flatting is not the best option here...you're probably ahead now...so raise to 2k ...call his shove and cry when you get done. Title: Re: Interesting hand from the $11 DeepStacks on Stars Post by: titaniumbean on August 15, 2009, 09:16:11 PM If we weren't capable of raising for value pre, how are we considering stacking off here with no reads/info or idea what a double pot sized cbet from utg means.
What i'm trying to say is in answer to your question if I ever had reason to flat QQ pre with these stacks i'd be folding the flop to this action without a better read. RR PRE FTW. But we would never be in this exact situation as we'd hopefully never be bad enough to play so bad pre Title: Re: Interesting hand from the $11 DeepStacks on Stars Post by: Horneris on August 16, 2009, 02:54:55 AM "We'll win next week".

Title: Re: Interesting hand from the $11 DeepStacks on Stars Post by: dousche on August 18, 2009, 02:14:12 AM [ ] as played we should be looking to get all our chips in the middle.
SB leads for 3x the pot. who knows what he's got? i fancy that we're ahead of his range here (probably JT or something equally tez) - but MP calls for 3x the pot. alarm bells ringing yet? although its possible that he has the flush draw and is an absolute noob we surely have to give him respect for a set here and gtfo. i fold Title: Re: Interesting hand from the $11 DeepStacks on Stars Post by: dousche on August 18, 2009, 02:15:40 AM so u just call on the button here ??? surely u must 3 or 4 bet here posting the blind is the first bet opening raise is the second bet reraising is the third bet (3-betting) rereraising is the fourth (hence the 4-bet) here hero would be 3betting Title: Re: Interesting hand from the $11 DeepStacks on Stars Post by: salfi on August 18, 2009, 01:32:47 PM its not really an interesting hand its a mistake pre that puts u in a horrid spot post.

As played, you have an underrepped hand...it's a drawy kinda board, ok u could be up against a set, but you have to be looking to get it in here imo Title: Re: Interesting hand from the $11 DeepStacks on Stars Post by: KarmaDope on August 18, 2009, 05:46:52 PM Mike's got it spot on, it's the horrid spot that's interesting.
Hero should have 3-bet pre, however Hero is a complete Stars loser and messed up. Then, just to compound things, he goes and does this: Preflop: Hero is Button with Qh Qs UTG bets t60, UTG+1 calls t60, 2 folds, MP3 calls t60, CO calls t60, Hero calls t60, Villain calls t45, BB calls t30 Flop: (t420) 5c Tc 4s (7 players) Villain bets t780, 3 folds, MP3 calls t780, 1 fold, Hero calls t780. Turn: (t2760) 9s (3 players) Villain bets t7540 (All-In), 1 fold, Hero ?? The turn brings a brick and the SB shoves. MP folds and it's on our Hero. What would you do in this situation?
