Think it will be decided who the press association officialy credit it to, sick sweat as they often change their minds on these things.

It will defo be an OG mate, it didn't deflect, Lucas deliberately put his head onto the ball and it went onto the other side of the net.

If he tried to duck out the way or just stood there it wouldn't be OG, but he blatently went to header the ball

OG it is

Nice bet

How we've only scored 1 I'll never know. I cant even say we've defended that badly except from one set piece.

WP Villa tho - very well organised - they'll be in Europa places again for sure.

GG title sweat.   Sigh.

Tonight - much more than the Spurs game (where we were truly owned) I can see why we miss Alonso in the middle.

Title sweat is all it would have been I fear.

(We'll still pwn Asenal to third tho ;))

6 points behind Chelsea does already seem a huge gap to breach.

If we made the signings we have and kept Alonso and lost Lucas we'd go very, very close. You cant ever say for sure but I'd have been a believer.

Alonso only offers 3-5 goals a season but I think he's better at managing possession than Carrick and Mikel - I rate him that highly.

Benitez needs financial backing - not Chelsea or City esque but enough to match Man U and we'd do well. (Ppl don't realise Benitez's net spend is less than £20m per season on average and at zero this summer) Our first XI is class (alongside the very best) but the depth is still the problem. We signed a £2m centre half coz we cant afford the man we wanted to at £10m even though Benitez made profit for the club this summer. I'm faily certain that backing will come before the end of this season in the shape of new owners so maybe we'll get to find out.

That's a fence sitting answer I know, but for the squad he inherited and the funds he's had I struggle to find a manager (who is available) who could have done a better job.
