Title: PostgreSQL Server / PokerTracker Post by: SirPerceval on August 25, 2009, 01:48:58 PM Can anyone help with a problem I have with PokerTracker?
I have used PT3 since the start of this year when I purchased a new pc (Windows Vista 64bit) with success. Each time I load PT I have to restart the PostgreSQL Server manually (not sure why but PT doesn't work without it) Since a few weeks ago, each time I try this I get the following message: "Windows could not start the PostgreSQL server 8.3 service on Local Computer. Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" I have tried upgrading to PostgreSQL Server 8.4 but get the same message I have also upgraded to build 5.2 of PT which makes no difference I have also tried google searches but find myself quickly out of my depth of computer knowledge. any help would be much appreciated as I want to get PT up and running again before I start my SAS trial. My PT hasn't worked for months, since i tried to install an update. Something was blocking Postgres. I searched all over the PT forums, tried countless different things none of which worked. just followed this link and bingo!! |
