Title: Well done the surviving blondes.....
Post by: tikay on August 29, 2009, 04:13:47 PM
With thanks to Tighty, here's a shameless C & P of the Day 1a Overnights from the 300+ runner APAT Event at DTD.

Day 1b (approx 150 runners) is today, with the concluding day tomorrow, Sunday.

Including Alternates, some 157 played yesterday, & Mother Hen, using the now discredited Duckworth-Lewis-Trumper system, calculated at start of play that 26 would return.

James Bagley   35   4   187500
Jamie Reeve   25   4   127500
Frances Creed   25   6   120900

Kevin Smith   35   6   119100
Ian Overson   34   8   81800
Charles Mason   34   2   77200
Tom Steuart Fielding   35   9   66300
James Smith   35   5   65900
Neil Dawson   25   3   64000
Phil Tompkinson   25   7   58500
Chris Filus   34   3   57700
William Young   35   3   55600
Gerard Harraghy   25   2   55600
Marcin Rejmak   25   1   52700
Ralph Shalson   34   6   52400
Dave Potter   34   7   48600
Michael Hodgkins   25   9   47200
Derek Liddle   35   1   45100
Mark Marchant   34   4   42700
Kevan Ridley   25   8   30500
Peter Carey   35   2   29800
Alan Mcbride   35   7   26600
Ian Brooking   34   5   21900
Stuart Ward   34   9   19600
Anthony Williams   34   1   15200

Amazing performance by Ralph, who ran his stack up to 50k+ before gettng his Aces bust, and then rebuilt to over 50,000 - without playing a single hand all day.

Jamie Reeve, representing the Sponsors, had an amazing day, too, as did Fran, who currently sits 3rd.

Well done to them, & all the other blondes.

A lovely day was had, with the 4th & Final day of the APAT Fessie being tomorrow, during which the Hold 'Em Day Three, & HORSE Event, will take place.

Some photo's of the notable & beautiful blondes present are on my Diary, including several of Booders cardigan, which was, he boasted, purchased from the Norwich branch of M & S.

Pictured yesterday. Never without a smile - a man who actually enjoys his poker, win or lose. Weirdo.

Fran is in the background, doing her nails I think.

In Level 2, he was holding 3-3, in a three way Pot.

His two Opps had 6-5, & A-A.

Flop, 3-6-6.

They both paid him off - in fact, they even done the Betting for him.

MBN.

Really enjoyed my time at the table with George and Neil, even if Neil wouldnt leave my BB alone. What a nightmare he is when he has chips!!

Can honestly say i learned a fir bit from just watching them play, and thoroughly enjoyed busting Rupinder out of the Tourny!

OMG.

With Orford doing In-Poker again this week, some afters can be expected here. Orford decribed Evil Pie as "outclassed" at Gala Notts a fortnight ago.

Well done all, I'll be up there later today.

Such an educational day . . .

A bopkin(sp), a bipkim(sp), learnt how to play the wheel of death clown style, I learnt that Larry is as great as they say, the thrill of getting the finger the air pre flop and best of all I learnt that a drunk clown is the best clown of all.

Oh and that one bloke that gets to go next door because he has too - lucky B*****d.

3.30pm start on Sunday

I was missed off here.  I came back short stacked with 26,600.  Doubled up with AK v 10 10, flopping an ace.  Took blinds uncontested several times and built to 90k +. Got greedy, raising all in for 11bb with A7s and run into pocket queens, finishing 20th.

An excellent and very enjoyable event. Thank you to everyone involved in the organisation.

Gl to all remaining players.

Had a great time at this APAT event! Especially during the anti-railing of Matt by Mr Hopkin himself. Was absolutely hilarious!

For those who had bets on, I started off pretty well. My first table was pretty good, and managed to get myself to about 70k in chips by level 7. However, then I was moved onto Matt's table, and things started going down hill. I managed to get myself in 3 race situations with me winning none of them. This left me with about 20-ish k in chips. The grinding began again, and then I doubled Matt up with my 77's into his 99's. Never really got going again, and this meant I was going back to day 2 with just 26,100 in chips, with blinds at 2000/4000-300.

The seat draw is done, and I'm in seat 4. So I'm one hand away from the blinds! First hand, utg, I look down at AQ. Automatic shove really, but don't get any action. Apparently K10 was dwelling in the SB. Call one time please! So I get upto 30k and then the hijack (eventual champion Charles Mason) raises to 10k. I look down at JJ in the cutoff. I shove, folds around to Charles, and he insta-calls with Aces. GG. Nothing really I could do there with jacks and my stack. Maybe next year, hey?

That's a very specific look you're talking about there, Pokefast.

For years I've been working the Romanian style. And it's true that have I occasionally dabbled in Orphanage-chic.

But I must admit I've never combined the two. How daring and yet so effective! I simply must have this combo for the new season, darling. Rest assured I will get my wardrobe team on to it straight away!
