The more the merrier..!! high quality cameras can have 10mp or 13mp... super high quality cameras might have 15mp and the price is reflective of that...
Have any of you ever heard of 1474 Megapixels...!!..?? Have a look at this picture, it is the inauguration of Obama and the cameraman wanted to get everybody in. See how far you can zoom in to pick out faces from the back..!! remember kids, the megapixel number is no guarantee of quality. The rest of the optics contribute just as much.
