Title: Prix d’Elégance Post by: thetank on September 03, 2009, 01:25:32 PM Inspired by Kev's talk of toilets with deoderizing facilities, I thought I might bring this up.
A chess tournament in Paris offered a Prix d’Elégance, a prize for the best dressed competitor. "I could notice with pleasure that ladies and men generally made effort to come to the playing boards in very presentable outfits" Do you think this sort of idea would have any merit in a poker tournament, or would it not work outside Frenchieland? Title: Re: Prix d’Elégance Post by: thetank on September 03, 2009, 01:31:52 PM Sigh, shouldn't have posted this with a few dodgy sartorial desicions in my past. To be fair, lots of other poker players have no dress sense.
It's more general scruffiness that this sort of thing would be aiming to combat. Getting a critical mass of people to turn up wearing something that has at least been washed. tie - 1000 chips suit - 5000 chips polished shoes - 2000 chips cravatte - 10000 chips always thought there werent enough cravattes in poker... Title: Re: Prix d’Elégance Post by: Nakor on September 03, 2009, 05:57:31 PM Foregotten the Spacefrog log in details Tank?
