Title: Doyle Brunson SIGNED BOOK auction
Post by: Colchester Kev on September 22, 2009, 09:59:26 PM
Mondatoo won this in a comp on blonde, I got it signed by the man himself at DTD ... He has most generously donated it back to be auctioned on behalf of young Reece.

So far we have

Can I start the bidding at £30 for the Reece fund if Mond has been so kind?

I RAISE.

£31.50.

Put me down for £35 for the book.  xx

So it's over to you guys, any advance on £35 ... I will also throw in a RaketheRake bag containing a Cake Poker chip set, a stress toy in the shape of a red letter box, and a spinning card protector.

PLUS 6 blonde badges ... yes SIX !!

Will post pics tomorrow.

Thanks

xxx

Had a quick look around elsewhere, found 2 signed books, both were signed copies of supersystem2 but that's as close a match as I could find.

One was priced at £175 and the other was priced at $275

£212?  £212?!  Where are you going with such* odd numbers.

As I seem to have the 'awkward' part down to a fine art (Yer just plain slow, Gramps) I'll make it the even £220.

*edit was only to fix a letter in the word 'such'... as that's what I meant to say first day.  Bid doesn't change.

How about something like 48 hours from the last bid?

That still leaves a fixed deadline but avoids the danger of ending the auction too early.

Kinda doing that anyway as i'd made it "going twice" and we where going to finish it sunday, would think if it's still going by monday 24hrs would be long enough since everyones had a chance to see the thread

A bidder might not be active for a day or so though.

You have to give 48 hours imo.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Kev, just make sure you get all the codes and numbers for an 'international' bank transfer from Mo's crowd as I'll need the lot for my local bank to do the transfer.

I'll be in Luton for APAT next month, so you won't have to worry about shipping if you can pass them on to someone else who is going.

Big Cheers to Mond as well!!!

The Nun (Maureen) has asked the Mods that this note, which is by Maureen, be Posted.

I can confirm that Laxie has been in contact with me over the £250.00 on numerous occasions and in fact it is I that has said there is no rush to pay it as we have not yet set the date for Reece's holiday, plus we have not yet got enough to take him.

It has been agreed that she will pay the money next time I see her or if in the very remote chance that we do go prior to that arrangements are in place.

We did meet briefly this year but she was still in the tourny and who ever would think Dawn of all folk would make it to day 2,  ;ashamed; as it happens we couldn't stick around.

The last time the subject was discussed was very recently when Laxie invited me over to Ireland whilst the kids were away, it was agreed she would pay me then but I had to back out and didn't make it over.

Further to Reece's holiday fund, I showed Tighty his book when he visited recently to show that no withdrawals have been made and I am sure he can confirm this.
