Title: Seems reasonable to me Post by: Pyso on September 25, 2009, 05:54:08 PM We're at the final table of the live satellite to the £300 deepstack at DTD with five players remaining and 3 seats on offer plus £212 for fourth, when someone suggests that we split the £212 between 4th and 5th.
Everyone has around the same number of chips and play is grinding along a bit, so it seems a reasonable idea to ease the pain of going out on the bubble. Unfortunately the tournament director has other ideas and jumps in, saying in no uncertain terms that we can't do this. Ever. I was wondering - why? Red-dog was saying the other day that some numpty gave up his EPO seat on the bubble for a £20 payment from all the other players - isn't this tantamount to the same thing? I'm not that bothered about it, just curious as to why they let you do deals on chip counts in normal freezeouts but not this in a satellite? Title: Re: Seems reasonable to me Post by: Cf on September 25, 2009, 05:56:52 PM I think DTD have a strict no savers policy.
That said, I don't think they can do anything if you all agree to take the money out of your own pockets. Having said that, I had no problem with it as a concept and when I thought about it, couldn't see why it wasn't allowed. Title: Re: Seems reasonable to me Post by: George2Loose on September 25, 2009, 06:10:51 PM I hate savers and love DTD's policy on this. Saves me from saying no when everyone asks
Title: Re: Seems reasonable to me Post by: MANTIS01 on September 25, 2009, 06:11:40 PM I always find this lol. You can do whatever you want with your own money and a td saying you can't is real dumb. Just do it if you want to do it. What can the td do? Object? Err lol ok.

Voila. Title: Re: Seems reasonable to me Post by: Pyso on September 25, 2009, 06:17:26 PM I hate savers and love DTD's policy on this. Saves me from saying no when everyone asks I agree with this sentiment actually. To be honest I wasn't going to agree to it but the TD stepped in and saved any awkwardness I may have felt in turning it down... |
