Title: New Computer Set Up - advice pls
Post by: GreekStein on September 28, 2009, 12:51:57 PM
I was asking Kin advice on msn but he didn't seem to grasp that I don't want to spend £8k on 9 monitors that double into a small aircraft and can take my family on holidays.

I don't have a budget as such but want to spend less than £1k, the lower the better.

I want a new desktop with 2 largish screens.

Advice pls.

Surely Cos you can get 3 of these screens and a new video card or whatever they call it for your existing PC?

You don't actually need a new PC do you? I'm sure your existing one is fast enough just for playing poker but might need the odd tweak here and there.

Come on PC nerds help him out.

£342 for 3 x new screens as recommended by Mr Prince.

I would think there's some kind of upgrade to allow him to run them for £200 tops?

I'd get Rookie's Cube thing.  Very nice.  So cheap as well compared to what you'd get for that money a few years back.

Do it Cos.  Win the £300 this weekend and then....oh no, you're not there.  Shame.

I'm so gutted, bought a new 2 screen set up about a month ago, cost me £1k and its a Dual Core processor.

Now I can get Quad core and a much better PC for the same price.

Does the difference between Dual Core and Quad Core stand out? My knowledge of PC's is basic

They actually sent different monitors to the ones on the site, which I thought was odd.

They ended up sending AOC F22's (I think, in bed now and can't be arsed to go downstairs and look). I don't know if there is a big difference in performance or not (if anyone who knows anything about monitors care to look please let me know) but the looks are a lot different. I think I like them though..

I will admit I am clueless.

I bought a 28" hanngs age ago. They are/were ridiculously cheap and i've never heard of them. But it's never not worked and is huge and great picture quality.
