Post by: Matt.NFFC. on September 29, 2009, 10:57:20 AM

Preston at 10/11 home to Reading

Wycome 6/5 home to Tranmere

both look v good for accumulators

Very impressed with Preston at the weekend

Peterborough, Preston, Wycombe and Millwall over Yeovill at 8/11 pays 13/1.

Tranmere are a poor team, but Wycombe are not much better.  Millwall looks good V Yeovil.

Pile in on Preston boys, lets drive that price down. Sure didn't get 2.08 last night, looking to lay off obv and the price is moving against me.

not really..they can't buy a goal at the moment.

Standard Liege away to AZ @7-2 is a tasty bet though. AZ have been ridic poor this season and Liege is a good side.

Yes,

They only beat Jong Ajax (Ajax youthside) in the cup in September, all other wins came in August. They beat some very poor teams at the start of the season and the only decent result they have posted this season was a 6-0 drubbing when they beat RKC (who have been even worse this season as they only posted their first win of the season this weekend).

Koeman is being blasted in the Dutch press and by the fans because he has done just about everything wrong.

The British bookies get it wrong every now and again as people go by names; AJAX, PSV, Feijenoord and now AZ are the teams everybody knows and therefore goes for. The people betting on them tend not to read the Dutch newspapers or websites and most sport websites that are in English don't go into that much detail about what's going on at a club so the bookies can get away with offering ridic odds sometimes.
Twente is still being under-estimated by most people but McLaren has done an awesome job at that club.

Having said all that; The Dutch league is of course still a mickey mouse league and most of the games are horribly predictable.

Wes Hoolahan is 9/2 to score at any time in the Norwich vs Leyton O game today with Skybet, I think this is massive valoooo.

We have started playing Wes in the free role behind the striker (Grant Holt) which is easily his best role, he has already scored for us 3 times this year despite being sub or not even selected in some games. He is far too good for this league and when we play well everything goes through him. He takes penalties for us, we are starting to play better and wouldn't be surprised if we really turn someone over soon.

Where does this opinion come from Re Wes?

Seems to me watching him that he is just like the bloke in your picture in the last 3 years of his time @ city - piss poor.

His "skill" seems to blinker the fans from the truth that he gives the ball away, does not pull his weight and is so lightweight its untrue.  He does have the very odd brief flash of brilliance but not enough to even justify his place IMO.
If they can find a goalkeeper (the current situation is dire), 1 full back, 2 midfielders get Tudor Jones fit and find someone to share Holts workload they might give someone a going over - without it will be a long hard slog this season.

But hey I know little about football, I've gone Wolfsberg, Norwich and Middleborough.

Ha you represent the other opinion of Wes that other supporters seem to share. Playing him anywhere but behind the striker, is asking for trouble as he does give the ball away too much, but  giving the ball away in the oppositions half is different to give it away when he is playing in our own half. He was an integral part of the Blackpool team that got promoted out of this division playing the free role behind the striker. We have just played him out of position too much imo.

He was our best player at Exeter and the disaster against Colchester. Then was left out when Lambert came in, as he didn't fit the system yet has forced his way back by playing well for the reserves. The Gillingham manager Stimson said after Saturday game that Wes was the best player on the pitch.

I am not sure about this faith in Tudor Jones he looked very mediocre in the games I have seen, Stephen Hughes looks a lot a better player imo (who is playing tonight). We need a centre back to play along side Askou imo and a right back as Semmy is still useless. Plus a goalkeeper obviously.

Anywhere enough of this Norwich talk I still think Wes represents great value to score tonight.
