Title: Vinyl to PC Post by: Biddy 62 on October 05, 2009, 08:16:40 PM Bought a kit off Ebay. It consists of a lead to go from my decks to a usb and a disc with a programme called Audacity. The instructions are a bit basic and the programme looks like something a sound engineer might use. Had a good go at it today i'm getting something but it sounds shit. Anyone?

If you own the vinyl you are not breaking the law (or are you?) downloading an mp3 off these sites as you already own the vinyl. Then just rip the ones you cant find. What type of music is it? Maplin frequently have them on sale: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=usb%20turntable&source=15 Don't own one myself, so can't vouch for any of them - most of our vinyl is the wife's, and I'd rather it was left in the 80s where it came from :). I think you're breaking the law whether you download it or rip it yourself, if you listen to the record company that is. They put me off buying CDs when they said that, I figured there was no point paying to be a criminal. |
