Title: Buildings to be torn down.... Post by: GreekStein on October 06, 2009, 10:22:41 AM Random question but a client of mine is looking to do an internet viral advert and we need to know of some buildings in the UK that are due to be torn down.
If anyone knows please post on the thread! Cheers Title: Re: Buildings to be torn down.... Post by: Acidmouse on October 06, 2009, 10:26:59 AM leeds international swimming pool

Post by: AndrewT on October 06, 2009, 10:28:25 AM A couple of guys I know, Ahmed and Muhammed, have recently been talking about some big buildings which are going to be demolished in London soon - quite a lot of them by the sounds of things.
I'll ask them if they know which ones. Title: Re: Buildings to be torn down.... Post by: lazaroonie on October 06, 2009, 10:32:36 AM this a good place to find old abandoned/ready for demolition buildings...

No biggie with me, just sits a little too close to home. I was on holiday during the London attacks last time and my mum was working near where it was happening. We couldn't get hold of her for ages when all the phone networks had been shut down. Pretty worrying stuff hence why I struggle to find any of this sort of humour funny. I had the same experience as you, except with my brother, so maybe that's why. Title: Re: Buildings to be torn down.... Post by: rex008 on October 06, 2009, 05:06:37 PM Interesting diversion on the thread. I find it's family/friends that are more bothered by terrorism worries than people who were close to it. I was commuting into Kings Cross and west on the circle line at the time of 7/7, and I reckoned I was probably 1 train behind the Edgware Road one (I get off at Baker St). Nightmare day, obviously, but I was probably only paranoid for a couple of days after, before basically telling myself to f*ck the bastards, and making people paranoid = them winning. So stopped. Family/friends took a lot longer to get over the slightly close shave.
So yes, I LOLed at the joke, and then thought about it, and then was quite happy I did :). Title: Re: Buildings to be torn down.... Post by: Longy on October 06, 2009, 05:16:05 PM I would imagine a lot of us were affected by close shave with 7/7, my mum commuted into London at that time and was fortunely on time that day. Still laughed at the joke.
Title: Re: Buildings to be torn down.... Post by: kinboshi on October 06, 2009, 05:19:14 PM Yep, my brother went in early and got a taxi, otherwise could have well been on one of those trains.
Title: Re: Buildings to be torn down.... Post by: Royal Flush on October 06, 2009, 05:53:01 PM lol @ people getting worked up about it.
My Father was in the WTC the first time it was attacked, does that mean i shouldn't laugh about it? People die doing things every day. Title: Re: Buildings to be torn down.... People die doing things every day. Don't see anyone getting worked up. I just didn't find it funny as it was a little close to the bone for me, no major deal. Title: Re: Buildings to be torn down.... The other parts of the series are really good. Highly offensive though. (really)
