Title: ALEA notts last night
Post by: vinni on October 06, 2009, 02:21:25 PM
i was on my way to the ALEA  notts last night when i had a phone call from a friend ,that the alea had cancelled there comp due to lack off runners ,surely if they have guaranteed the comp at a grand how can they do that ,will they do the same tonight .
I was going there because i knew they would`nt have many runners and there would be value .

The car Park attendant rang ahead to the card-room manager to say you were on your way Barry?

Seriously though, advertise a Guranteed competition, honour it surely.

Hmmm. To be honest anyone who went last night and got turned away probably won't bother tonight in case it happens again.

I guess it's GG to the Tuesday comp pretty soon.

probably

It's this sort of uncertainty that leads to problems.

Can anyone definitively tell us when it is?

That always tilts me. Guaranteed money is only guaranteed if enough runners turn up to make the guarantee. What sort of guarantee is that?

the international made the mistake of guarenting a sat with 10 seats and forgot to set a minimium number of runners only 8 people turned up and after a little debate they gave everyone a seat

obv gtd with a certain number of players

I think the point is firstly it wasn't advertised like this, certainly not on blonde and wtf is the point in guarenteeing anything if you are going to pull it. ALEA pretty much have waved the white flag here, now that DTD is open 7 days a week.

yep. presumably if it was advertised as a guarantee with x number of runners there would be no need to cancel it if x number wasn't reached.

If he's not then it's a huge loss to Alea, he really knows what the players want and how to go about doing it. Struggle to see anyone else making it happen the same way there.

If he hasn't left, ignore me!
