If a telly does not have a headphone socket, is there anyway you can sort something through scart sockets or anything ??

connect it to your pc and then plug the headphones to that

Scart has input and output. It will work with the correct adaptor.

Yep, that should work with a scart adaptor.

just plug that (the red and white plugs) into the phono outputs of your telly (or even your sky box) and then plug the headphones into the other side of that cable.

Got it for bedroom and Jane keeps nagging when I want to watch it at silly O'clock inthe morning when she wants to sleep ... so I get cordless headphones and then find out there is nowhere to plug the receiver in FML

not much you can do then, since the scart on the telly is for input only.

you could put another freeview box and use that for the tv signal and sound, but thats a bit daft

could do - depends if the TV's scart socket is wired up to the industry standard...coin flip at best...

We picked up one of those this morning, Kev still couldn't get it to work.

I'll have a look at it later but I can't see that Kev can be getting it THAT wrong.

Correction, he CAN get it that wrong, took me all of two minutes to have no sound out of the TV and sound through the wireless headphones.

wait a second ... It doesnt work as in "it mutes the sound from the telly", you have to turn the sound right down on the telly and because I am a genius, I bought cordless headphones with an independent volume control. :)

Yeah its working, I just turn the sound "down" on the telly and "up" on the cans, and jobs a good 'un.


Now she cant moan about the sound ... I am just waiting for the "its too bright, I cant sleep with that flickering"  ;)
