Title: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: Unimaginative on October 13, 2009, 02:28:00 PM quick question,
finalled DTD last nite 103 players. 824000 chips in play, blinds at 3k-6k/600. i have 92k roughly... (so pretty much a crapshoot-by next level there was 100BB in play 8 handed) passes to button who shoves 23k i have Ahrt 8s. BB has 29k. so i want him out to take this HU (right?) so i announce all in. BB tanks and asks me if i had A9, good read i guess but played 15 mins of whole tourney with him, ends up taking a 3-4 mins making a decision b4 finally shipping the rest in Ks 5s. maybe im thinking about this the wrong way but is his call in a 3-way all in pot with K5 correct coz of the maths or is this just dumb? BTW- button has Qh Td, board comes 9s Kd 3c 6s Kh. could chompy please post his expert views thanks!!! By my calculations he's getting about 2.2:1 on a call. But I doubt given the button's shoving range and your reshoving range that he'll have this much equity in the pot. But it's probably not too far off. Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: Rupert on October 13, 2009, 03:14:27 PM his call is awful everything else is standard

Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: StuartHopkin on October 13, 2009, 04:03:04 PM lol
does the 29k inc the BB's big blind? so he has less than 4BB back? if so i get it in here all day long for valooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: Cf on October 13, 2009, 04:11:10 PM I assumed it was 29k after posting his big blind.
If it's only 23k tho then he's now getting 2.6:1, which is better. Still, dunno if I like Krag in this spot. Too easily dominated by one of the other two? Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: BulldozerD on October 13, 2009, 04:14:14 PM all is fine apart from the BB's play imo
Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: EvilPie on October 13, 2009, 04:26:05 PM Only thing I don't like about bb's play is that he's let himself get down to 5 bigs.
He can't pass here. Too much to win and a half decent hand. Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: StuartHopkin on October 13, 2009, 04:57:29 PM I assumed it was 29k after posting his big blind. Either way he is SB next, down to 26k or 20k and has to get it in somewhere. Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: $muszlesz$ on October 13, 2009, 05:24:06 PM bb had 35k in total....and it was wadey which makes all the differance imo

Think there was a guy who made friends with Neil cos he kept calling simply for pot odds not assessing anyone's hand ranges Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: gatso on October 13, 2009, 05:40:43 PM imo

Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: poonjoe on October 13, 2009, 09:03:35 PM Lol the funny thing about this hand was after Wadey won it three other players at the table sat there commenting 'Great call Wadey, fantastic call...'
Now I will bet you £1000 that had Wadey lost the hand those same players would be saying 'I can't believe he's called off his tournament with K5, after two all-ins, what a terrible play'. Well, Wadey called for value after correctly assessing that Poulton would be isolating with a wide range, including A9 like he said. Was his call correct? Its a bit more complicated than just sticking it in Pokerstove, because Wadey can improve his chances of moving up the pay ladder by folding here. We need to use an ICM calculator.... BRB Wadey sure was thinking about the above, they were suited and one of the cards was above a 10, "Im going to have to call you boud". His right arm was probably also at right angles to his body when the second king came' I told you bud, thats how you play K5' Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: titaniumbean on October 14, 2009, 02:30:44 PM cant win by folding imo

Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: Unimaginative on October 14, 2009, 05:55:08 PM So if u think his play is correct calling there because he is so short then why has player not shipped his 5x stack in b4 the BB has reached him, we had nt played many hands at the final by any means, but had more than 1 oppurtunity to get it in 1st. Still thinking this play is horrendous, and yes I was rather surprised when seat 1 ( old man-with no bigger stack than K5 player) opened his mouth to say "good call". Needless to say I shove 67suited middle position wit 7x and run into K5 players KK, so busto 8th. Long drive home 4 a donkament

Personally there is no way to play but ftw so I would never let myself get that short. Unless I just got my stack in and that wast the change. If though, you put me in that seat at that point, I ship my 5 bigs in with a one hand in the air about to do the banana dance. ;sexybanana; Title: Re: £40 DC DTD monday night Post by: Karabiner on October 14, 2009, 06:31:38 PM So if u think his play is correct calling there because he is so short then why has player not shipped his 5x stack in b4 the BB has reached him, we had nt played many hands at the final by any means, but had more than 1 oppurtunity to get it in 1st.
