personally yes, but once you've done that you're doomed. you cant get away on the river

Not necessarily - you were raising a continuation bet, and representing a King which you didn't think the raiser had. You were unlucky with what the turn and river brought to cost you all your chips - don't see how you could have got away.

In fact, I may have lost it on the turn when he checked to me, and bet to continue with the 'I have a very strong hand' message I'd sent on the flop.

The thing was, it's 300 for a pot of 2250, but a call is the worst choice here I think, I rather take control of the pot. I don't think he has the King, so I want to be the aggressor. It's possible his holdings could be Ac Qc, or even just the naked Ac

His 300 bet gets raised by me as a matter of principle. Tis way too low.
I'd have raised to 'bout 1.5k on the flop. Then you know where you are if he calls (behind).

If he had called that, I'd check the turn and lose all my chips on the river.
