Title: 4 handed final table
Post by: TightEnd on October 26, 2009, 06:03:35 PM
£75 205 runner MTT live

Final four players

Payouts

3500 (plus a GUKPT Champ of Champs seat, undealable)
2250
1250
600

Stacks

UTG Hero 500k

Button Villain 550k

Small blind 350k

Big blind 600k

blinds are 8-16k with 1500 ante about to go 10-20k

UTG raises to 45k with Aspades Jd

Button, pushes all in. Most aggressive player at the table, unknown to you before the final. Hasn't had to show much but suspicion is he is "at it" more than his competitors

Blinds fold

UTG is the most experienced player, with the best overall game, and has never been in danger throughout the comp

Call, or Wait?

Raise less in the first place.

Fold now. Even if we think he's "at it" we're not usually miles ahead, and if he's got better then us we're likely dominated.

I think it depends on hero's image to an extent. But villain must figure his move carries bags of FE and he knows a good player doesn't need much to be raising UTG 4-handed. If the other 2 are weak/tight maybe fold. But if they are regular I would snap because how much play is left in this game? A decent opportunity to get your chips in vs some LAG with a-rag and win the game imo.

purely dependant on how things have been going at the table, image etc but a big ace is hard to raise/fold 4 handed

How much is the seat worth?  It might skew me towards calling if it makes 1st prize top heavy.

I would fold here. You still have plenty of chips. I think the button prob has you dominated. I dont think he will risk his tournament here with less thanAK.
 LOL-I know i know nowt, but it's only a game isn't it?

with 25bb at the next level, against 3 others that are weaker than you, calling is bad. I fold here pretty fast.

Stacks probably just too big to make the call comfortable.  If you were both sat with 250K then it would probably be instacall.  I don't really like calling or folding, so is probably pretty borderline, and I may well wait if the table is weak.  I also assume the players reraising ranges here are much tighter than a stars donkament.  Think I have persuaded myself this is an easy fold, unless he has done this to me a lot.

Fold

You've asked the question UTG, now take the answer, stacks still OK, wait for a better chance

No we haven't. The bet should in no way be "asking a question".

I'm folding.  We don't know the new guy and we 'think' he's at it, but I'm not using my entire stack to find out for everyone else.  Still plenty of chips and experience to take them on later.

Easy fold.

But raise less pre in future especially when our plan is raise / fold.

This.

You've got enough to raise/fold against players who are generally going to let you know when you're behind.

is it dangerous to put them on a weaker range due the size of their 3bet? would they jam AA/KK/QQ/AK here or make it 120-150k to go?
