pfft  you all are so negative,

I happened to like Tony Blair, he was that middle ground that was so badly needed in this country. and Look who we currently have as options now that he is off to cash in on his political stature.  Gordon One eye  and David " I was sent by Mephistopheles "Cameron shy of that there is the Lib dems chap that no one can temember his name ( including me, He is so unimpoortant I wont even google" or we could have the Serial shit stirrer  Nick "i dont support KKK" Griffin.

Tony Blair was a decent PM in balance and he would do a very balanced job in Europe too IMHO.

We don't get a chance to vote or not vote for the European President.

We don't get a chance to vote or not vote for the European President.

This was my first thought.

Would be nice if any of the most important decisions in Europe were decided by the electorate rather than the politicians and civil servants.

no level, i liked the guy and miss him as pm, he was quality in PMQ's and whenever something went pearshaped you knew he was chatting absoloute bollox but always swallowed it because of his big smile and great hand movements.

no one's ever gonna like any politicians and they'll all fuck up badly if you give them the chance to but they run the gaff so stop moaning about every little thing, tony blair was alright.

.. because of his big smile and great hand movements.
...

actually Bolt has a point - this is pretty much the best you can hope for in a politician at the moment.

Maybe the question should be: If you had to choose for the EU presidency, Blair or Berlusconi?

Question 2: Berlusconi or Nick Griffin

Question 3: Hazel Blears or Beyonce (I know this has been asked a million times)

I would prefer someone like Richard Littlejohn from the Daily Mail, at least we would have a straight talking no nonsense person, that you could probably trust!

Which is something that, you cannot, from the bunch of creeps running the country now!

I'm sick of the one eyed hypocrite, promising money for this and money for that, from a completely empty purse.

Do not forget people, it was Balir/ Brown that has put us in the mess that we are in, and crippled everyones pensions

I do not think Tony is earning enough money at the moment ... so give him the gig imo.

Can there be any greater proof that Britain is no longer a democracy than the fact that Tony Blair is being seriously talked of as the first permanent President of the European Council?
The justification for this according to our pipsqueak Foreign Secretary David Miliband is that Mr Blair can 'stop the traffic' in foreign capitals, the very quality so beloved of totalitarian dictators.
Let's put the case against Mr Blair simply. For ten years, his corrupt regime lied and dissembled to the British people, in the process bankrupting the country.

He took Britain to war on the basis of lies, possibly the most serious charge that can be laid against any leader.
In doing so he ingratiated himself with America - the same America where he now makes himself obscenely rich.
All that is bad enough, but his elevation in Europe would be an offence against democracy.

Mr Blair - and Gordon Brown - pushed through the Lisbon Treaty without, as promised, putting it before the British people.
They claimed a referendum wasn't necessary, because the Treaty was merely a tidying-up exercise, yet now it's so significant that the President must be a major figure. What utter cant.

Can there be any greater proof that Britain is no longer a democracy than the fact that Margaret Thatcher is being seriously talked of as the first female Prime ministerl?

FYP

Since the achievements of both Magggie and tony are so similar, can we atleast rate them in the same way?

Tbf if it tricks Littlejohn into leaving the country and then we snap leave the EU, tell him he is an illegal immigrant and can't come back. That would be a result and some great karma imo.

Blair and Brown ruined this country.
Blair was bright enough to step down and leave the mess to Brown.
I think I'd trust Berlusconi more than Blair. At least you'd know what to expect from him.
Orgies and filandary FTW
