Post by: Biddy 62 on October 31, 2009, 02:50:09 PM
DTD last night early on in the £40 rebuy. Blinds 100/200 mid position find KK early raiser to 525 i just call button calls and both blinds fold.  Flop AKQ rainbow its checked alway round (i expected button firing) .  Turn an horrible j checked to me i bet 800 button calls early raiser folds. River a 7 i check button bets 900 been the clown that i am i call and he shows K10 for his straight. Thoughts?

Effective stack sizes, makes a big difference with possible lines to take.

Why did you flat pre? Not sure i like doing it without a read that we will get squeezed or the original raisor is very aggro.

Would deffo bet the flop, this flop hits a lot of hands. I think calling the river is fine, he could well be value betting worse (2pr etc).

Fwiw I don't like posting results it biases replies and makes it sound like a bad beat story in this particularly case.

Yes it does read like a bad beat story, first post in here so cheers. I flatted trying to disguise my K's i thought 525 was a fair amount anyway.

DEFFO 3 bet pre esp as your on the button. Old boys at DTD always think you're "at it" when on the button

We're not on the button dude

If you're going to flat pre think you have to bet the flop....

You flat pre to disguise the strength of your 2 kings and then you check the flop because you make 3 kings. So come the turn we can say your hand is very well disguised. But to what purpose? There is no money in the pot. It's ok to disguise the hand but it's gotta be because that strat offers you the best chip return. 3-betting an ep raise early in a rebuy prob makes you chips, and betting a broadway board multiway prob makes you chips. Alternatively flatting pre didn't get you a raise and checking the flop didn't get you a bet. You only actually start juicing the pot when you're beat.
