can you play poker on a netbook?

They are for very simple programs. Internet browsing, Emails, Word Processing.

If you're not one of those insane multi table people, yeah...it's perfect.  I got one as I can't lift much for long periods and it's great for travelling.  Play 1 or 2 tables, no hassle.  Granted, I'm not a person who ever played more than 3 tables at once anyway. 

Samsung NC10 is what I have.  Had it since August and wouldn't trade it for the world.

It would only be for sng's. What is the wifi connectivity like? And what about battery life when in use?

I have the wee Acer Aspire one which was £200. Battery life is not great, Wifi is excellent. Basically for a wee machine to take with you anywhere they are fantastic. If you want to multitable or use it as your main computer then forget it.
Only thing I found was that it came with Linux and I couldn't get most of the poker sites to run on Linux (probably due to my lack of technical expertise). So I just installed Windows XP on it and all is well.

It depends totally on how many tables you want to be running? If you usually play sng's, I'm guessing you play a lot of tables?

I have a NC10 as well as my main laptop, and take the netbook with me when I go and play live, so I can use it in hotels and that sort of thing. If you're looking for something which you can fire say 3/4 tables on when on train,hotel etc then it's fine. But I wouldn't reccomend you buying one to use as your main computer. Oh and battery life on the NC10 is brilliant, hours and hours!

Yep...you'll get hours of battery with the NC10 and they already have XP installed.  Just make sure you get the right one.  Argos does a cheapy version that comes with a rubbish battery. 

I have an Acer, it copes pretty well with Stars and Betfair, but you need damned good eyesight to be able to tile tables.

Oh and buy a mini-mouse!

I've had a Samsung for best part of a year now and do manage to play 3 or 4 tables.
I put Windows 7 on it a couple of months back and it still working great.

It's about right.  I got mine from an Irish company delivered to my door for €329 back in August.  That was a good deal (for this side of the pond) at the time, but they've come down in price all over the shops since then.  Of course.   rotflmfao

6 cell battery is the main thing to worry about.  The rest of the specs for the NC10 are pretty much the same, apart from case colour.  Much to the dismay of a few people around here, mine's pink.   

And has a name, which is frankly weird :).

I have an Asus EEE1000 running XP and it runs most sites fine.

4 table stars with ease, 6 tables with awkward overlap, anything more than that and its tiling mayhem.

Battery life is about 3.5 hours and the wifi is spot on.
