As for the programme itself, it was tabloid TV, and while some may have hoped that this would perhaps open up debate about the death penalty being re introduced, they will be disappointed. The Execution of Gary Glitter was neither thought provoking or ground breaking television, but as Andrew said, it was compelling viewing not least for the talent of Hilton McRae.
