hi guys was gonna take my son to see eddie tonight anyone know .,.,or know where i can find out if ther are any age restrictions for his show in the cia cardiff.,.,my son is 12,,and i think he wants to be a comedian,..,he would love this if i supprised him telling him we were going to the cinema and went here instead.,.,.,

I've had a look online and no age restriction is mentioned. Usually they make it really obvious if there is one. As you will be taking your son i really don't see there being any problem.

There won't be a legal age restriction but it's probably a bad idea to subject a 12 year old to this.

He won't get half of it (probably more than half) and will just hear a load of swearing and see a bloke making funny faces and dressing up a bit funny.

I would think there's something far more entertaining for him at the cinema.

Went to see him at newcastle never seen nowt bout age restrictions but didn't notice any youngsters either,there wasn't much swearing in it that I remember.But then I was too busy staring at ross noble who was sitting right in front if me,spoke to him a bit during intervals,top man he is

eddie izzard is one of the funniest guys in the uk and my son has a lot of his dvds as of lee evans mike mac,to name a few,if the authorities think its fine then im sure it would be fine,i only asked if anyone new the age restrictions.,.,.,whats wrong with everyone ??

Absolutely love him just think his humour is a bit much for a 12 year old is all.

I'm not saying it's wrong of you to take him and I'm not getting on a Mary Whitehouse high horse or anything. It's entirely up to you where you take him.

There won't be an age restriction because there never is at these things. When the DVD comes out though it will be 18 rated so that gives an idea of the content and shows that the authorities don't really think it's fine. If it was on at the cinema you wouldn't be able to take him.

12 YOs should be allowed to listen to Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy (when he was funny) IMO.

Age restrictions make me think of Cartman in Bigger, Longer and Uncut; "Ohno, this movie has warped my fragile little mind!"

Well, there are funnier people around IMO (Dara OBriain springs to mind. But nothing wrong with swearing in a comedy act IMO)

Eddie Izzard DVDs seem to have a 15 Classification - he's never been particularly sweary, but I'd suspect that some of the references may be outside a 12yr old's experience.
You may get some interesting questions on the journey home :-)

Omg Dara Obrain is the unfunniest stand up ever. Only take him to this if u want to dissuade him from comedy as a career

Dara is one of the few proper quick witted comics out there IMO. I much prefer comedians that interact with an audience over comidians that just stand there and tell their jokes (unless it's Tim Vine as he is just seriously funny)

there is no age restriction, i also went to see him in newcastle and it just seems you have to be in the "in" crowd of izzards to get some of the jokes. i really didnt enjoy it, but one mans meat is another mans poison.
