Title: £100 f/o two hands
Post by: gribbo on November 30, 2009, 07:57:06 PM
Two hands i played yesterday at a £100 mtt in Glasgow.

First hand i am biggest stack on the table and have been opening a lot of pots, not being played back a lot. Opponent in hand i have pushed off two hands previous without going to showdown.

Blinds are 200/400 opponent has 20/21k. He has generally over raised/bet with big hands pre and postflop. Only seen him go to showdown with QQ on one hand where he was gifted chips. he limps utg I have  Kc Tc on the button. Make it 1600 to play he flats.

Flop  Kh  Qd  2c he leads for 2.5k... I flat.

Turn  5c he leads for 6k... I ????

2nd hand I am on another table and have similar image. I am biggest stack on the table with around 65-70k, opponent had around 50k. Blinds are 600/1200 with a 100 ante.

Opponent has been playing tight preflop but generally overaised pre with strong holdings, and have seen him spew chips before post flop. I have not played any pots with him/ have no history.

he opens for 3500 before the cut off and i flat on the button with Qh 8h. Both blinds fold

Flop comes  Aspades  8c  2h he bets 4.2k I flat...

Turn comes a  Qs he ships his stack in... there are around 35-40 left at this point with me having a top 5 stack... structure is very top heavy.

Would like advice on these hands, will add any info if asked. Thanks

Call turn in hand one, I like the flop cawl fwiw. And hand 2 u has two pairs after peeling the flop, unless you think he never bets turn with less than 2 pair arrrr in insta.

Good advice so far. Like the calling line in Hand 1. Hand 2 is the biggest fist pump.

don't raise to 1600 pre (4x BB) if noone else is in the pot yet...Less is more.

bloke limped UTG

call line is good in hand 1. Don't really like the preflop call in 2 but now Bingo - all in

hmmm, reason we flat is to let him double barrel all his bluffs/worse hands (like QJ he elects to donk "a la Gus", raising gets our money in bad. Given he probably never 3barrels though and has between 5-8outs when hes behind i think we should shove the turn to protect (pot is big (15k) ) and as a combination bet to make him sometimes fold KJ.

First hand i jammed on him feeling as though I had some fold equity... he called with  Kd Qh which i felt as though he played well tbh... and i rivered a club to win a big pot.

Second hand i snapped and was shown  Ac 2c...     Ahrt on the river crippled me bad. Looking at the posts and comments on the 2nd hand defo feel as though i shud have 3b him preflop.

Does anyone call a river bet/jam in the 3rd hand if we dont catch a club, ten or king?

Appreciate the comments/feedback guys
