Title: Trying to find the right portable DVD player Post by: StuartHopkin on December 09, 2009, 01:03:17 PM After a portable DVD player not overly fussed on features or make but would ideally like about a 9 inch screen, thats easy enough to find one between £50 and £700!
Really though I want one with a removable battery so i can have a spare and get about 8 hours playback? Anyone got one, got any tips or suggestions? Thanks Title: Re: Trying to find the right portable DVD player Post by: mondatoo on December 09, 2009, 01:05:34 PM You watch top gear on sunday? if not you should and then get that system imo abs incred, actually just get the car you it's only 130k free drink for a year means you should make your money back anyway
Title: Re: Trying to find the right portable DVD player Post by: Scottish Dave on December 09, 2009, 01:06:55 PM £700!!! WTF
we are getting one for my oldest for the car, you can get good ones for £100, and a double screen one (two screens. one for the back of each car seat) for £150 tops! I want it to use on planes though so if it has to be fitted in a car, and the car has to go in my hand luggage, and then onto the plane, might be awkward? The £700 was sweet and played Blu-Ray but not Geordie_Ray. Not going in the car so dont want two screens. Just for the plane so battery life most important and a decent sized screen. Title: Re: Trying to find the right portable DVD player Post by: gatso on December 09, 2009, 01:49:00 PM get an external dvd drive for your netbook and plug it into the wall or are you going on cheapo airlines without a socket?
Title: Re: Trying to find the right portable DVD player Post by: Ironside on December 09, 2009, 01:49:25 PM and you rarely get 8 hours of battery in a laptop when your watching dvds
Title: Re: Trying to find the right portable DVD player Post by: EvilPie on December 09, 2009, 01:56:14 PM Probably best to find the cheapest one possible but make sure it does "upscaling"
That way it will be better than the £700 one anyway as that plays the dvds as intended rather than making them artificially better. Title: Re: Trying to find the right portable DVD player Post by: EvilPie on December 09, 2009, 02:13:30 PM Why do you need 8 hours? Where are you off to?
Is this a lead up to a blatant "I'm going to Dubai" brag post by any chance? You could've just said mate instead of going to all this trouble. And as for the dvd player just go to PC World and buy the most expensive one they do. That tends to be the best. And as for the dvd player just go to PC World and buy the most expensive one they do. That tends to be the best. Just because it would be useful for those slightly longer flights? Wasnt really a brag mate, just want one with a battery you can change rather than a built in one. Also would mean I wouldnt have to charge it while I was away, one their one back? Going to PC World is a terrible idea. Everything is expensive there. The staff are useless. Everything is out of stock And have you ever rang their techincal support...................................... Title: Re: Trying to find the right portable DVD player Post by: Colchester Kev on December 09, 2009, 02:36:13 PM LOL PCworld ... when I am in a good mood, I purposely go there to insta change ... I stand looking at something and wait for someone to serve me ... and wait some more ... and wait some more, then when eventually someone does arrive, I ask them the most basic question about the product and then listen to a 5 minute answer which has absolutely no relevance to the question I asked.
Hey presto, good mood vanished and back to being a grumpy git. PS. Don't try this yourself if you have a tendency to want to hit people.
