Title: DTD Monte Carlo - Sold Out
Post by: snoopy1239 on December 11, 2009, 04:16:36 PM
Hello, everyone. I'm looking to sell 30-50 percent of myself in the upcoming Monte Carlo £250k GTD on Friday, December 18 to Sunday, December 21 at Dusk Till Dawn, Nottingham.

I am primarily a cash player. I play mainly on iPoker, six-handed NLH with stakes ranging from $0.25/0.50 to $2/4. My normal game is 10-tabling $1/2 with max sit-down. I tend to play rather sporadically depending on work commitments, but recently I've been playing quite a few hours over the last couple of months. I played heads-up cash for a while and got up to $5/10, but had a bad run of luck, lost most of my heads-up profit, and returned to six-handed. I've broke even (excluding rake) over the last couple of months, but, overall, I am a winning cash player.

I rarely play tournaments. I think the only tournaments I've played this year were two $1,500 bracelet events at this year's WSOP. The reason for this is simply convenience and the high luck/variance factor involved. I am planning more live events though, because I enjoy them, they provide a refreshing change from online cash and offer me a chance to catch up with people I rarely see due to no longer covering live tournaments. I also think the side games are worthwhile. However, I'm only really going to play good structured events as I feel they best suit my game as a cash player as I believe I'll be able to play the streets better than most.

I don't tend to take too much notice of others' previous tournament experiences unless they have played a lot, as I don't think it's that relevant. I think playing and talking to people, reading their hand analysis, and learning how they fair in cash games over a large number of hands serves better relevance than knowing someone fluked a tournament once. As previously mentioned, my tournament experience is limited of late, although I have played several £1,000 plus events. My best performance was probably 19th of 433 at the 2008 GUKPT Vic. Again, I only played 10 events in 2008, but did make a final table at the first ever DTD Deepstack Festival in August, coming 8th in the £500 Main Event. I've taken a few unwise shots at big events, but I'm still around £10-15k up in tournaments.

My Hendon Mob can be found below, although it doesn't show my biggest cash which was £4,200 at a Walsall £300 event.

I will be selling at spot rate including registration. The buy-in is £1,000+90, so 10 percent sells for £109.

I won't accept staking unless monies are received before the start of the event. I'm flexible on payments. Direct bank transfer is the most preferable, but I'll also take a PokerStars transfer or cash on the day of the event. I'd rather have few backers than lots of one percent investments, so the minimum stake is five percent

I'm going to play the DTD online satellites as I think they are good value. I played Monday but missed out by a few places due to a cooler. I did qualify for the £300 monthly though. If I qualify via a satellite, the staking will still stand. I'm assuming this isn't unethical.

Barring a sudden cash downswing, I'll probably play this event anyhow, but would prefer to risk less than the full buy-in due to variance. Despite my lack of recent tournament experience, I do think I have a decent edge in this event.

Will you be wearing a blonde poker badge or BBP gear or perhaps one of Dana's dresses?

Unlucky Snoops - you need 32300 posts to be able to ask for staking.

Come back when you've contributed a bit to the forum.

I'll take 10%

The middle one. Although I have shares with blonde, I work full-time for BBP, so wearing blonde's garb wouldn't go down well. Also, Dana never lets me wear her dresses any more.

Lucky I have good eyesight. Don't be ashamed.  :)

I've had 710 posts deleted, so I just make it.

40% gone. Willing to sell 10% more max, but absolutely no problem if not, so don't feel obliged. Thanks to those who have staked.

I've just gone out of this event in 98th place. Not too much to report. Peaked at early 50s yesterday in the opening levels, but later dribbled down to 30k after some bad rivers on hands that were played down the streets and a couple of preflop encounteres where I had to fold decent hands against 4-bets. Ducked and dived on my second table to come back with 38.8k. Managed to maintain that stack for the first two levels despite receiving no legit hands. Moved to what appeared to be a more stationy table with one guy who must have been up with the chip leaders. Got 9-9 utg at 1/2 level, raised to 6k from 38k stack, chip leader called. Flop = 7-3-3. I checked-raised all in, he thought for a while, shrugged and called with T-T. Didn't hit. Was disappointed because I thought I was ahead when he dwellt, and would have got back up to just below average on what looked like one of the weaker tables. Think I played pretty well with not much in the way of cards. Thanks to those who backed me, sorry I didn't deliver.
