MK and Plymouth, on the basis that MK is going to be a massive city come 2018 and Plymouth is a huge area otherwise not represented

Find both a bit odd as we sit here today, but can see the long term thinking

MK makes sense geographically.

mk really not going to help when the committee decide where to host. somewhere like derby with a football heritage makes more sense to me

only for the english surely. is it that easy to get to for foreign visitors? I have no idea what airports are nearby

It won't make the final cut anyway... surely!

LOL. Luton 30 mins away, London 1 hr away, Stanstead 1 hr, Birmingham 75 mins

Great location, and a very fast growing area, and (although the franchsie is meh) a wonderful ground with room to expand

Derby and Leicester lost out to Birmingham/Nottingham. Which I actually agree with.

Plymouth/MK are correct choices geographically otherwise you'd not be able to regionalise it sufficiently

Shame the FA's couldn't have got the Millenium stadium in somehow...

According to Wiki:

'According to current FIFA practice, no more than one city may use two stadia, and the number of host cities is limited between eight and ten'

Presumably London will be the one city allowed more than one stadia, meaning Man City will be fekked as will Sunderland

South Africa are hosting it with only ten grounds so we'd use 12 max, so I can see MK and Plymouth not making the cut anyway.

old trafford not in manchester so technically both manc grounds can be used but that'll mean another city missing out

Also 'current FIFA practice' may not be current once bid time comes round.

Surely it will still be classed as a Manchester Stadium tho

aberdeen and dundee utd is in no way a derby!

thats just fans clutching at straws cos they ain't from a big enough city that has a second team to rival them.

all this new firm shite is a load of bollocks, and so is the old firm term aswell, i hate it.

I love Dundee mate, but in no way is Aberdeen v Dundee Utd anywhere near a Derby. Im sure the Dundee Fans would never stand for getting pushed to the side like this anyway?

precisely, how can it be a bitter derby, if they ain't even from the same town? where does the local bitterness come into it then?

Norwich's local derby is with Ipswich and it is Norfolk vs Suffolk thing. There is plenty of bitterness trust me

This.

Add good rail links, good road links and if the ground ever gets finished it'll be pretty shit hot.

Most passionless ground i've been to this season, home team 1-0 up, 9k there, not a whisper...
