Title: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: The Baron on December 22, 2009, 01:08:47 AM The XI in full:
Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), John Terry (Chelsea), Nemanja Vidic (Manchester Utd), Patrice Evra (Manchester Utd), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Xavi (Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Fernando Torres (Liverpool). Tough to argue that imo. Maybe Puyol in there somewhere. Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: Horneris on December 22, 2009, 01:21:00 AM Evra the only dodgy one there for me.
Incred team. Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: Scottish Dave on December 22, 2009, 09:01:10 AM Is that based on this year? The Torres GTFO, and get Drogba in there instead.
Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: kinboshi on December 22, 2009, 09:54:19 AM If it was based on this season, Gerrard wouldn't be in the side.
Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: Scottish Dave on December 22, 2009, 10:31:50 AM If it was based on this season, Gerrard wouldn't be in the side. Maybe not this season, but it must be based on 2009 as the title suggests, even so, Drogba is ahead of Torres Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: gatso on December 22, 2009, 11:01:52 AM no giggs?

Maybe not this season, but it must be based on 2009 as the title suggests, even so, Drogba is ahead of Torres It' close - between Jan 1st and the end of last season Torres>Drogba Then again - between start of this season and now Drogba>Torres Anyway people who play ugly never get in these teams. Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: gatso on December 22, 2009, 11:29:38 AM is there no-one in serie a/bundesliga/anywhere else that's challenging this team?
Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: The Baron on December 22, 2009, 11:49:28 AM Ribery?
Was going to say Eto'o but his inclusion would be based on Premiera Liga form. Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: bolt pp on December 22, 2009, 11:50:12 AM titus bramble

Eto'o is one of the 3 i put ahead of Ronaldo when i classed Ronaldo as 4th best in world, perhaps not just now, but defo over all Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: lazaroonie on December 22, 2009, 02:53:51 PM wtf has ronaldo done this year to warrant being in the team ??
Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: Scottish Dave on December 22, 2009, 02:57:17 PM wtf has ronaldo done this year to warrant being in the team ?? being sold for £80M probably! People think he must deserve to be in there with that asking price. Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: mondatoo on December 22, 2009, 03:02:09 PM Ribery should be in ahead of xavi, imo ;gobsmacked; LOL,would you not put ribery in then ? Iniesta is better than xavi FACT ;) The team seems to be on overall ability other than how they've done this year otherwise gerrard never makes this team(and i think gerrards best player in the world when on top form) Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: The Baron on December 22, 2009, 03:21:03 PM Ribery should be in ahead of xavi, imo ;gobsmacked; LOL,would you not put ribery in then ? What has Ribery done to warrant ousting Xavi? I agree on Gerrard but as I said about about Torres Vs Drogba - between Jan 1st and the end of last season which is more or less 5 months, Gerrard and Torres were untouchable. Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: The Baron on December 22, 2009, 03:26:32 PM wtf has ronaldo done this year to warrant being in the team ?? Before I post this let me state that I HATE Ronaldo. But I think he should be included. Ronaldo scored 18 in 33 last season and he's scored 7 in 8 this season. Surely we're seeing the best wide man ever in one of his prime years? The only reason it could possibly be considered to be an underachievement is because of his own ridiculously high standard the season before where he scored 31 in 34. He shouldn't be excluded because 2009 isn't quite as good though. Chelsea's players of the season 2008-2009 and rightly so. No other left back out there is turning up week after week like he is. Generally the best player in the would have decent ball control Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: mondatoo on December 22, 2009, 11:24:54 PM Gerrard hasn't really contributed anything this season due to injuries and so on,is that what your referring to laz ?? that Gerrard is the best player in the world (on his game). Generally the best player in the would have decent ball control I guess you don't think he has,i've never noticed him have poor ball control.Imo there's no better player in the world when he's at full throttle especially in a big game when liverpool have really needed him he always seems to deliver, shame he doesn't do it so much for england as well Title: Re: Fifa World XI 2009 Post by: Murph1984 on December 22, 2009, 11:31:33 PM Evra the only dodgy one there for me. Apologies, but i really can't see where the love for Cole comes from, he did have a nice game against Arsenal 3 weeks ago, but apart from that, think he is piss poor. There is another player at your club goes by that same surname who i think is one of the greatest players in Europe, Joe cole is fuckin amazing! as for Casillas, yes i do understand the love for him, don't think there is a better keeper on the planet as good as him, the guy just stops everything at times. Yeah Chelsea fan. But Cole is generally considered to have been the best left-back in world football along with Evra over the last 4/5 years,Cole over a longer timeframe than that on his own so you cannot argue that he is "piss poor" because the fact is any club apart from United would love to have him. Joe has had a frustrating 18 months and he is too hard on himself for his own good,he wants to be the same player he was straight away, when in reality it is going to take him maybe 3-4 months to get fully back to anything close to the levels he reached before the injuries. Of course having a World Cup around the corner is just adding to the weight he is putting on himself. Hmmmm....Tbh I thought he'd really lost his way when he joined yoos lot, for the best part of a whole season he didn't look right. but he's come back much better as a player. For one thing he's a better defender now. I hope Joe Cole is firing on all cylinders come the WC. He adds something to the side that no one else does. Casillas is top dog for me tbh. A class above every other keeper out there cept maybe Buffon. What England would give for one of those two. |
