Title: Xmas Sports Quiz
Post by: TightEnd on December 23, 2009, 11:21:56 AM
I ask a question

Whoever answers it correctly asks the next question...

At which Premier League football ground does the Home team use the Visitors Dressing Room, and the Visitors use the Home Team Dressing room, and why?

Title: Re: Xmas Sports Quiz
Post by: TheChipPrince on December 23, 2009, 11:51:07 AM
Fulham?

Didn't they leave the changing rooms out of the original plans hence why the 'cottage' was built?  Not sure they would swap dressing rooms though

Archie Leitch connection?

Correct answer

the reason is that both changing rooms, in the Cottage, are below the minimum size the EPL requires. As the home room is slightly bigger, Fulham offer that to the visitors to do everything they can not to be forced to build new dressing rooms which would be a logistical nightmare

These days with 11 players +7 subs +up to 10 coaches/support staff the dressing rooms are notoriously small as they were designed, by Leitch, for 11 players, no subs, one manager and a trainer!

lol, jeez, i never though id get shot down so much for being clever at quizes!

Remember i was a member of the winning team at BB1 quiz!

anyway, here's a question i enjoyed that i heard last year, the only problem is, you have to answer it as if it were still last season. it does really work for this year, but i like the question that much:

Note: 2008/2009 season question!
Q: Name 6 Premiership players that have played and Scored in an Old Firm game in the past? - Clue there are 3 for Rangers and 3 for celtic!

Remeber this question was asked during 2008/09 season.

Note: snowball, teacake, div, pat need not apply as im sure we already discussed this in the pub one night.

I claimed the goal and it was my name Jeff Stelling read out on Soccer Saturday - there no dubious goals committee here.

Let's see how this goes.

If you get a train from Plymouth to Aberdeen you will be able to see 20 English and Scottish league grounds by looking out of the window.

Which ones?

Title: Re: Xmas Sports Quiz
Post by: TightEnd on December 23, 2009, 11:30:48 PM
Powerboating and Waterskiing are correct

one more answer needed

BPA had a double sided main stand, from which patrons could watch the football, and then cross to the other side and watch the cricket on identical seats facing the other way...much like the South Stand at Headingley allows the same for Cricket and Rugby League

Designed as such by Leitch, because BPA rented the football ground area from the Cricket club, and thus that design was a pre-condition of the football club putting stands up rather than Northampton used to do, three sides and an open fourth side onto the criocket, and was the case at Brammall Lane too until the mid 1970s

Tighty gets Bristol C, Birmingham, Dundee and Dundee United.

Gatso gets Hearts, Hibs and Newcastle.

Seven gone - the route goes north-east from birmingham, not north-west.

Just to confirm - no way you can see Dundee and Dundee United's grounds whilst getting the train through Dundee.
