I'd 3b. Is it to get more value from your hand as you are so deep and early in a tournament? Title: Re: quick one - super standard fold pre? $10k gtd 25/50 playing c5k stack Post by: Cf on January 02, 2010, 02:01:16 PM I also flat pre.
The problem with 3betting for me here is that against an unknown a 4bet means only one of three hands. And I pretty much have to fold. If you do get flat called then this doesn't really help you either. They may be getting stubborn with their suited connectors or whatever. Or they may be being tricky with their premiums. Either way, you don't really know and you're going to be uncomfortable on most flops. Just flat call and play the streets. Bear in mind that you're not necessarily set mining here. If you have a good read on your opponent then I guess you might 3bet and call a shove for value. But if someone really is this spewy then sticking in 100 bigs pre doesn't seem to most profitible way of getting their chips. I would prefer to play a bigger pot in position, I can take charge of the pot and I can give a free card or make him pay for a card. I wouldn't like to be facing a big bet flop and turn on a 9 high board. I wouldn't like to be facing a big bet flop and turn on a 9 high board. You're living in a dream world if you expect people to peel a flop to 3bets oop ever. Yeah everyone would prefer that but it never happens any more, pretty much everyone knows to 4bet or fold in villain's spot. If he's never calling, only 4betting or folding, and you're folding to a 4bet then congratulations, you have successfully turned your JJ into a bluff. Are you 3 bet calling KK and AA only, possibly AK? Do you 3 bet fold anything here? suited connectors for example? |
