Title: SKY TV Post by: sovietsong on January 06, 2010, 06:08:57 PM Hello all,
Looking for a little advice if possible, I'm with Virgin at the moment and want to move away from them as they are truly awful, they charge me £72 a month for XL package (all channels except movies&sports) broadband (10meg) and phone (just line rental) i also opted to add sky sports. I know a few people on here got sky sorted but I forget who did it for everybody, all I really want is Sky sports, a plus box and broadband. Just wanting to put the feelers out before I go looking for those people that knock on your door asking you to change!! Any help would be much appreciated, I miss sky more than having a full head of hair!! Kind Regards, Sovietsong Title: Re: SKY TV Post by: Scottish Dave on January 06, 2010, 06:13:04 PM Boldie (well his missus) and Rex were the ones with info i think mate
The codes to get everything halfprice for a year are all finished tho, but you can still get discount and money back for both parties just now. Will have a look tomorrow but i think all the friends and family offers have finished for now, will see what we can do. pm me what you are looking for. If there's any good ones on can you let me know. I tried 3 times to get through with the code you gave me before but was put on hold for 20 minutes each time and got bored waiting. Not complaining or surprised about the long wait because it was a great offer I' m just a bit peeved that I didn't get it. Title: Re: SKY TV Post by: EvilPie on January 06, 2010, 08:51:26 PM In reply to OP I get the same virgin package as you but without the sport and it's £46.
You could ring Virgin and ask for customer retention then say you're leaving if they don't reduce it significantly. Worth a try. If you can get a good Sky deal though then that's better but try to keep your Virgin broadband. It's loads better. Title: Re: SKY TV Post by: sovietsong on January 06, 2010, 09:05:54 PM They have offered...
Broadband (10meg) All tv channels excluding movies Phone (no free calls) A vigin + box for 30 quid and no monthly charge. All coming in at 59.50. All I want is the sports and broadband with a plus box. Not really fused about anything else. The missus likes music! Title: Re: SKY TV Post by: Eck on January 06, 2010, 09:07:08 PM ok will give you (both) a shout tomorrow.
Title: Re: SKY TV Post by: relaedgc on January 07, 2010, 02:56:15 AM Sky broadband comes free, and I never have any problems with mine. Well, I pay £5, I think, for the faster connection, but it's still more than adequate.

Isn't there another pricing model they can apply for the likes of you (serious question this time :) ) the problem for us is that we only choose to show the football in an enclosed bar area as obviously snooker players dont want tvs when they are playing. our bar area is approx 500 sq feet whereas the whole building is probably in the region of 5000. sky insist on quoting us based on the whole area even though we have no intention of showing it outsise the bar area. thats our quandary. ITB, You might want to look at going down this route? Cost wise its cheap to set up, a you get loads of footy. Only problem is that its slightly dodgy regarding other pubs and that getting pissy as they are paying sky prices etc but if you keep it quiet and dont rub it in there face you should be ok. So i doubled checked no hidden charges so obviously i agreed.
The girl from Sky told me there are giving 5000 homes this offer UK wide and i just got randomly picked. Jus wondering has anyone heard of this offer?
