Title: Best line - $100 limited-by-the-Pot-Omaha spot.
Post by: GreekStein on January 09, 2010, 04:00:20 PM
I'll post the hand in 2 stages a la Bedi/Blakey.

Stacks are 160bbs effective. I've just resat at a table so have no info on villain. I don't know if he is a reg etc.

I open the cutoff with  6s 7s 7d 8h to 3.50 and get a call from the BB.

Flop..  Ahrt  Qh  7s

Villain checks and I bet 7. He raises to 28.

We?

Dunno really mate. Just have to decide whether you love bottom set. Usually not for me but sometimes it's nice.

I guess you can make it 60 and pass to a shove? With no info you have to assume you're behind to a bigger set there.

If he does a flat call then it's all in on any none heart turn.

Really tough spot without reads. I think you just have to play it abc and assume that if he puts a lot of money in the pot he must have a good hand.

No, never!

I raise for value or bluff and get info as I do it.

Well what else can you do in this situation?

You're raising your bottom set for value but if you get re-raised you have to assume that you're behind unless you fancy a spew and hope he's got a draw or is bluffing.

With no other reads on your opponent where else are you going to get your info other than betting patterns?

Bit of a leak tbh.

The main reason to bet/raise if for information. Any value or bluff expected value you receive is as a side effect of the information you were seeking in the first place.

Can't see him banging away if he has it on that turn card, pretty happy he has a dead draw so probs just flat and then call river.

I agree with Flushy up to the turn, not sure about river though because I don't think it's that common that people fire the third barrel without it here at PLO100.

you have full house.

would you bet so big with aq qq or a6?

I dont think so

But I am an omaha idiot and I am still calling all the way.

I think the timing of his bet on the turn is quite important tho.

This was my thinking. I called. River was a deuce and he put QQ in my eye.

meh dont think he really had a clue what he was doing as the only thing he beats are floats and 77, so his river jam is pretty poor.

At this level I think it plays a lot different to what you're use to Flushy. People will peel idiot ends of gutshots on a two-flush board OOP, but most players imo will not fire more than one street without a hand @ PLO100 and PLO200, I don't think many players will shove worse on this river at this level, so without notes/history on the player I think it's probably a fold on the river.
