Title: The standard of refereeing... Post by: The Baron on January 11, 2010, 07:51:41 PM Who are your top 3 refs in the EPL?
I came up with Wiley, Foy and then shoot me but either Clattenberg or Marriner. That's how bad it is. FML bring back "the Uriah Rennie show". Title: Re: The standard of refereeing... Post by: Teacake on January 11, 2010, 07:59:07 PM As my old da' says "theres no such thing as a good referee, just some worse than others"
Title: Re: The standard of refereeing... Post by: Karabiner on January 11, 2010, 09:27:34 PM Marriner is more reliable than Clattenberg imo probably because he is not hampered by a huge ego like the latter.
Wiley would be my first choice and Foy seems decent enough, Dean has his good days too but just as many bad ones. We certainly don't seem to be blessed with a great generation of refs. Title: Re: The standard of refereeing... Post by: dino1980 on January 11, 2010, 09:35:29 PM I thought it was widely regarded that Howard Webb was the top English ref? I have to admitt i've got no idea if he's been piss poor this season or not.

Post by: Matt.NFFC. on January 11, 2010, 09:49:30 PM Stuart Attwell all day!
He is now known as Forest Fan Stuart Attwell as he disallowed a perfectly good goal for Derby against us. The man is a legend. I could be mistaken but I seem to remember a couple of high calibre cock-ups from this quality official. It's possible that the standard in general is roughly the same as it has always been, problem is the 3 million camera angles which determine whether a player is offside by a toenail etc etc Title: Re: The standard of refereeing... He's now the focus of his games, he cant stand up to the big 4 managers at all and he just doesn't let the game flow any more. He was so much better before he was talked up as the best ref around by Fergie. Title: Re: The standard of refereeing... Probably true Ralph. But when you get to these two as a third choice you're in trouble! Yeah spose Dean is ok too. |
