I have been trying to find out where this is? bottom right is airstrip. Pic taken 1944.

Any help? long shot i know.

I think it is Heathrow, but taken looking south, so it's upside down as you would see on a map.

If you look on a map at the Southern Perimeter road, you can see it's the same shape as the road just above the airport on the photo.

then wouldnt you be able to see the A4 then to the north?

The A4 wasn't there when the photo was taken - that bypass is post-war.

its not Heathrow as Heathrow didn't become used for Military purposes to mid '44. In the pic bottom rightish you can see corner of air strips with Military vehicle turning points. I have no idea what the bit in middle is? road from quarry? new strucure airbase?
