Title: split pot mistake Post by: Cf on January 17, 2010, 01:07:14 PM We've been out for some drinks and decide to head to the casino where we start a private dealers choice cash game. Blinds only 50p/50p so nothing serious. That said most of us were sat £100 deep.
Late in the proceedings (about 5.30am) we play a pot of 6 card PLO8. 3 of us get it in on the flop which is 6lowlow with me holding A26xxx two hearts with the flush draw. I prob shouldn't get it in here but I did. Turn and river were both aces (mbn) so I get the hi. Other guy also has the low so I don't get to scoop sigh. I pull the bets in and chop up the pot. Play continues until 6am when the casino kick us out. I then get home and just randomly realise I chopped the pot wrong. I split it 50/50 (about £60 each) when it should have been 75/25 to me. Now obviously the hand is long since over. And if this was a tourney obviously tough luck. But given that this was a cash hand against a friend and we both agree on what happened then do you think I might expect to receive my monies? I'm pretty certain that i'd be paying up here if I'd received the money in error. Title: Re: split pot mistake Post by: RichEO on January 17, 2010, 01:16:26 PM Too late to get any money from him. And you low has been counterfeited so you might have done someone else out of their share not yourself.
Title: Re: split pot mistake Post by: Eck on January 17, 2010, 01:35:13 PM LOL good luck keeping mates if you are going to chase them for £30.
You were drunk made a mistake that's the end of it imo. Title: Re: split pot mistake Post by: Longy on January 17, 2010, 01:41:30 PM Meh you should really take the hit, especially given it was your mistake. If your friend wants to give you the £30 fair enough, but to ask/insist on it is really bad form imo.
Title: Re: split pot mistake Post by: EvilPie on January 17, 2010, 01:44:24 PM Your friend should take the piss out of you a lot for this. He should be rubbing that £30 in your face at every given opportunity and trying his best to make you squirm. That's what friends should do, not demand £30 back because "well technically I should've won it".
If you can't take it for what it is then don't deal when you're pissed. Title: Re: split pot mistake Post by: nirvana on January 17, 2010, 03:29:59 PM This one time, i realised that one of my so called mates had bought one less round than the rest of us - what do I do now ;carlocitrone;

You absolute giant NIT! haha If you want proof of my nittiness then look at when I got 4th at dtd in dec. Got my money from the cash desk and went to play on quiz machine. Fired up Hex and was given the choice of 50p or £1. No prizes for guessing which one I chose. Title: Re: split pot mistake Post by: thediceman on January 19, 2010, 04:07:15 PM lol at this thread like to hear the convo when asking for it back I remember having a interesting convo with a bloke a week after having done a three way deal the week before. He approached the other guy and I claiming that he was £80 short on his third of the winnings. We just told him he should have checkedhis money before leaving the casino. He didn't seem to happy but couldn't really say to much. Our disclaimer was that it wasn't us who divided the money up it had been done by the casino cash desk. |
