The online poker room of gcasino.com will be launched in February and will also host online super satellites and other online GUKPT events. £300,000 in Added Value This year Grosvenor/G Casinos and their online partner gcasino.com are adding £300,000 to the GUKPT. £150,000 if this will form the prize pool for the end-of-year Champion of Champions tournament, which will be taking place at the G Casino, Coventry. The GUKPT rankings will carry £50,000 in prizes, with £20,000 awarded to the overall winner and a further £30,000 distributed to the top 20 players on the leader board. The GUKPT National Leagues will also carry £100,000 in prizes. Increased Starting Stacks Starting stacks in the main events this year will be increased to 15,000. Side events will also have bigger starting stacks with £100-£200 events now awarding 7,500 chips while £250-£500 events kick off with 10,000 chips per player. The Grand Final will have a 25,000 starting stack. From Aberdeen to Plymouth, these £200 NL Hold’em one-day events will extend the reach of the GUKPT further than ever before. The winners of all Club Championship tournaments will be invited to play in the £150,000 Champion of Champions tournament. The Online 10% Series Throughout the year, a series of one-off tournaments will be hosted on the online poker room of gcasino.com (www.gcasino.com). They take place the day after each main event on the Main Tour and the Summer Series concludes and the buy-in will be 10% of the event which has just finished. The first of these will take place on Blue Square Poker (www.bluesqpoker.com) on January 25th and will have a buy-in of £100. The winners of all Online 10% Series tournaments will be invited to play in the £150,000 Champion of Champions tournament. 10-Seat-Guaranteed Super Satellites New for 2010, every host venue on the Main Tour and the Summer Series will stage a 10-seat guaranteed super satellite, which will take place the week before their festival starts. The first of these took place in Bolton, where 14 seats were generated. Title: Re: GUKPT Bolton Thread Post by: Free_Rollin on January 19, 2010, 02:13:05 AM Played the £150 freezeout tonight, or shall I say, simply donated to the prize pool.
Turned up late, and missed the first level, due to public transport. Was a pretty ridic 3 and a half hour journey! So, finally got playing in level 2, played 2 hands, and out I was. Apparently, limp calling is the way forward in Bolton. Cash was a bit better. However, when I had around £600 in front of me, and everyone else had like £100 and one guy had £250, I decided there wasn't much value in my staying, so decided to leave. The guy sitting to my left accuses me of hit and running, and I said if everyone tops up I will stay. Funnily enough, he went quiet. Think he may have been steaming, since he asked to see my hand in one pot, and I said sure. He wasn't too happy when he turned over my 9 high. Cash action does seem ok for those who want to come and play. There was interest for a 5/5 NL and a 5/5 PLO, and I think they were about to start those games when I was leaving. 2/2 NL and 2/2 PLO were the other games running. Think all the boys who like to sit deep were playing the PLO game. Hopefully, I won't be playing too much cash, and be able to get a result in the tourneys! I'm not great with names, but he can't be too good either as he never corrected me once.
May go tonight for the rebuy. I'll be the one calling you by the wrong name. Last 6 left today for the £100 include Raf White (RW), Ali Mallu and Zaf Aslam. (AND ME!!!) Bolton was really quiet last night although apparently heaving the night before, so I don't think the £1oo rebuy was a popular choice for many. It played out like a freeze out anyway with ony a few players having rebuys from what I saw, and from the resulting pot. 4 cash tables plus sit and go satellites. We held freezeout super satellites at the Vic last year on the night before the main events and they were both sold out with waiting lists. £150 is affordable for many locals and travelling players will probably be keen to play it as well. I would be surprised if there are less than 50 players for it. I'm hoping it will be 80+

5/5 cash was mental. For anyone playing it, what was the name of the guy in seat 1 with the beard and the constant supply of e500 notes? Paid off a young Kid on flop of 45JJ8, all the dough in on turn, Kid declares Ace high - yup, it's good. (think Kid possibly well known on here but believe that is a different thread).. Seat 10 reraises pre, seat 1 mentallist calls, ends up with £1300 each in on a q high flop, seat 10 takes pot with 99. (apparently seat 1 had a2). Railtard , would suggest you go to casino when it opens and book your seat next to the guy paying everyone off. I played the £200 today and after like 4 hours of pure grinding, I got Mallu'd! I manged to get it in on a AQ34 board with AK against Ali's A5, and he obviously hit a 5 on the river. Pot was worth 32k when average was 13.8k! One day I will run good against Ali Mallu! I played £2/4 Holdem after, and that was as much as a joke as the tournament. This hand was pretty tillting, a guy limps utg, I raise to £25 in next position hoping it looks like a steam as a just lost a big pot, with Aces. A nice local lady called Caroline jams for £83. At this moment in time, I'm thinking that's all the action I'm getting. Then, the button cold calls for £83. Folds round to me, I make it £125 more hoping we get it in, as I'm thinking he must have tens/jacks/queens/kings, with me playing £400 total. Button decides just a flat call is the best play. Flop comes 679 two diamonds. I jam, and button starts tanking, He thinks for about half a minute, and then eventually decides to call. Any guesses to what he has? ........... He has pockets 6's. Yep, he cold called £83, with my stack being £400 total, flopped a set, and tank called. Poker is absolutely lovely. In the main event we have Jeff Kimber, Jamie Sykes, Priyan De Mel, Marc Wright and 6 other sick puppies left. Good luck to them all, but I'm really hoping Jamie or Marc will win this leg. Priyan and Jeff will also be very worthy winners. I hope I wake up in time for the rail, but it's 10:22 and I still haven't gone sleep yet! Title: Re: GUKPT Bolton Thread Post by: railtard1 on January 24, 2010, 10:53:48 AM Thanks sunny... sure have had more than 2 hours sleep.. FFS, jamies phone going off all night, and me drinking 1039338383 cans of red bull yesterday helped!

Priyan Deux Mel Wins Bolton GUKPT Priyan de Mel has won Leg 1 of the 2010 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour, becoming the first player to win back-to- back £1,000 main events. The Londoner defeated a field of 146 players at the G Casino in Bolton to take home £44,600 and the first of new tour sponsor gcasino.com's stylish trophies. In November 2009 he also won Blackpool's main event and is now only the third player to have secured two main event titles. His heads up opponent was Andrew Purser from Margate, who was playing in his first main event final table. With four players left de Mel had a commanding chip lead, but after Purser eliminated Harrogate's Jamie Sykes in third place, the gap had been narrowed and just 50,000 chips out of 2.2m separated the two players. De Mel had the best of the early exchanges and once again rebuilt his chip lead. The final hand occurred after over an hour of heads up when Purser moved all in with K-T and was called by de Mel, who had A-4. The board of 8-Q-4-9-9 settled the encounter in favour of the 36-year-old property developer. De Mel was elated to have captured his second GUKPT title, but commented in the post tournament interview that he was thirsty for further success “I'm really happy to have done back-to-back titles, but three titles is a good target to aim for.” He went on to say “Most of my friends are in Australia now so I didn't have many people here supporting me, but I guess them being away made it easier for me to win this one.” He also praised Andrew Purser's play, saying “He was short stacked and played a brilliant game to get heads up.” The final table included another previous main event winner in Jeff Kimber, who exited in 8th place. 4th placed Terry Owens from Liverpool was competing in his second main event final table and 9th placed Aaron Barry from Harrogate had made two previous finals. Cornwall's Marc Wright (5th), Manchester's Justin Devonport (6th) and the Preston pair of Philip Booth (7th) and Mark Robinson (10th) completed the ten-handed final table. In previous years the final table of GUKPT events had been nine-handed, but this year it has been changed to ten. Winner Priyan de Mel was in seat ten and remarked afterwards that ten is his lucky number and also the date he was born on. The Result Place Player Prize 1st Priyan de Mel £44,600 2nd Andrew Purser £30,300 3rd James Sykes £19,000 4th Terry Owens £11,700 5th Marc Wright £9,100 6th Justin Devonport £6,900 7th Philip Booth £5,500 8th Jeff Kimber £4,000 9th Aaron Barry £2,900 10th Mark Robinson £2,200 The next event on the GUKPT calendar takes place at 8pm on Monday 25th January online on bluesqpoker.com. It is a £100 NL Hold'em tournament and is the first of the GUKPT's Online 10% Series. Online events will take place throughout 2010 on the day after each of the live festivals concludes and will be for 10% of the buy-in of the main event that has just finished. As per all live GUKPT tournaments, the winners of these online tournaments will earn a seat into December's £150,000 Champion of Champions tournament. The next live GUKPT events will be the inaugural GUKPT Club Championships tournaments. Every Grosvenor & G Casino with a poker room will host one of these £200 NL Hold'em freezeouts in 2010 and the first batch of these will take place on February 13th at the G Casinos in Blackpool, Coventry and Thanet; and at the Grosvenor Casinos in Leeds and Swansea. All start at 2.00pm and players will get 10,000 starting chips each. Please note that there have been some changes to the schedule for the Club Championships since the original schedule was published. The main tour resumes on February 20th, when Leg 2 begins at the Grosvenor Casino in Walsall. The main event takes place from the 25th - 28th February, with two starting days on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th. Further details of the schedule can be found on the tour's website at www.gukpt.com Online super satellites take place four times a week on www.bluesqpoker.com and on the soon-to-be-launched www.gcasino.com poker room. Title: Re: GUKPT Bolton Thread Post by: TheChipPrince on January 30, 2010, 08:39:05 AM 2 day comp for a £150 is a bit an over-do imo
Title: Re: GUKPT Bolton Thread Post by: AlrightJack on January 30, 2010, 11:45:04 AM There were 189 players in it, so its probably just as well it was 2 days long as it would have been difficult to finish in 1 without compromising the structure.
Title: Re: GUKPT Bolton Thread Post by: $muszlesz$ on January 30, 2010, 01:29:20 PM so is it a 2 day with a 40 min clock or 2 day with 25 min clock ?

Title: Re: GUKPT Bolton Thread Post by: $muszlesz$ on February 07, 2010, 03:53:14 AM any news on this yet
Title: Re: GUKPT Bolton Thread Post by: AlrightJack on February 10, 2010, 06:46:52 PM I was in Walsall yesterday and it is advertised there are a 1 day event, which is what it was scheduled as. One day, 7,500 chips and a 25-minute clock. Since Walsall produced their latest tournament schedule flyer, the starting chips have been increased. The GUKPT schedule had also not been finalised by the time they printed it, which is why it may have been listed incorrectly. The staf at the casino should now all be aware that it is a 1 day event.
Title: Re: GUKPT Bolton Thread Post by: action man on February 10, 2010, 06:49:50 PM PLZ ONE DAY WITH 25 MINS, PLEASE PLEASE
Title: Re: GUKPT Bolton Thread Post by: AlrightJack on February 10, 2010, 06:53:07 PM Yes, that's what I said. For the avoidance of doubt, the £150 Freezeout on Saturday 20th February at leg 2 of the GUKPT in Walsall isa one-day event, with a 25-minute clock and 7,500 starting chips.
