Title: Unique Spot Post by: pleno1 on January 24, 2010, 11:07:41 PM Ok, setting is - Live cash game in local casino, playing 9 ring and it is about 3.30am, the game has been running since about 8pm and there is quite a lot of money on the table. I am sitting with £200 and everybody on the table has me covered apart from the c/o who has about £60. I have only been playing for about 2/3 orbits but most of the players have shown a willingness to gamble big as the hand in questions shows. The game has had a straddle at all times and occasionally a double straddle when the next hand arose. Hero started session with £200 quickly getting to £300 before losing a third of his stack after raising a straddle with Ad 9d two barrelling and then giving up on the river showing down Ace High, apart from that has been pretty nitty due to table circumstances.
sb - £400+ bb- £400+ utg+1 £300-£350 Straddle to £4 utg+2 £500+ Straddle to £8 mp1 £700+ Straddle to £16 mp2 £700+ Straddle to £32 hero £200 7c 7d ? c/o £60 btn £250 There is £63 in the pot and 7c 7d is our hand, what are we doing with it and what hands are we shoving? Title: Re: Unique Spot Post by: Longy on January 24, 2010, 11:09:56 PM Obviously shipping, it is always going to be +ev.
We effectively have 5bbs here, so I am shoving at least top 25-30%. Title: Re: Unique Spot Post by: pleno1 on January 24, 2010, 11:30:26 PM Just to add this is a one off. First time it had happened on the table and once the guys who have straddled to 16/32 and lost the money realise its -ev it will soon stop.
Title: Re: Unique Spot Post by: GreekStein on January 24, 2010, 11:40:28 PM straddle to 64 imo.

Title: Re: Unique Spot Post by: pleno1 on January 24, 2010, 11:49:40 PM What are we shoving here?

What range are we shoving here? Title: Re: Unique Spot Post by: Royal Flush on January 25, 2010, 12:03:11 AM Sit deeper imo
Title: Re: Unique Spot Post by: paulhouk03 on January 25, 2010, 01:26:46 AM 77+ aj+
Its either shove or fold Title: Re: Unique Spot Post by: Longy on January 25, 2010, 01:40:35 AM 77+ aj+ Its either shove or fold Much wider than this, folding hands like 55 and KQs is burning money. Just think of it like a donkament spot and what hands you would be shoving utg with 5bbs. Title: Re: Unique Spot Post by: Royal Flush on January 25, 2010, 03:37:26 AM Sit deeper imo think it's better value to be as shallow as possible while everyone is shovelling money in blind. It's better value to be sat with 1BB but volume x edge = profit. Title: Re: Unique Spot Post by: pleno1 on January 25, 2010, 04:11:32 AM Sit deeper imo think it's better value to be as shallow as possible while everyone is shovelling money in blind. This was the first time it had been so crazy, but obviously the players wern't nitting about. I had just got to the table about an hour before and just standardly (is that even a word) sat with 100bbs. I agree I should of topped up. We are obv way too deep to shove. But raise folding seems really bad.
Obv this is something that will never crop up again and maybe a waste of time critiquing, just I enjoy being analytical and knowing answers to things that I previously didnt. Title: Re: Unique Spot Post by: Cf on January 27, 2010, 05:30:37 PM If I'm sat on £750 I'm not raise/folding here. I'm raise/getting it in.
I'm no cash expert but the amount of spewy nonsense I've seen in these multi straddle pots makes me perfectly happy to get it in with 77. |
