Title: Live comp ruling Post by: Unimaginative on January 26, 2010, 12:03:00 AM Played a live comp 2day and come across this ruling:
blinds 200/400... Passes to button who procedes to make it 700... Players at the table ask if that is classed as a raise..dispute between players and the dealer and a ruling is called. TD determines that the original raise stands at 700 As always I would assume the raise would have to be made up to 800.. Thoughts please. Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: AndrewT on January 26, 2010, 12:06:06 AM LOL wat?
It's a min raise. Is TD familiar with the game of poker at all? Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: gatso on January 26, 2010, 12:17:40 AM lol
Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: Cf on January 26, 2010, 12:22:36 AM should have been ruled as an all in imo
Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: mouth on January 26, 2010, 12:28:38 AM Thought this was going to be the one about if the BB is 100 and someone raises to 300, then someone min re-raises do they reraise it another 300 or another 200, which would have been interesting as I'm still not sure of the answer.
However it was clearly just made up instead. Unless of course you were playing at your local pub, where rules are irrelevant. It's a min raise. Is TD familiar with the game of poker at all? i thought it was the most absurd thing ive seen as a ruling b4....had alot of respect for TD up to this point....not sure what was going through his mind but was apparently in the list of card room rules...jokes imo Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: EvilPie on January 26, 2010, 01:25:31 AM LOL wat? You know it's wrong so you get to look good when you're proven correct. If you're wrong just play somewhere else cus it's a crap cardroom with piss poor rules. Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: Drain Alien on January 26, 2010, 12:44:07 PM This ruling is complete and utter tosh imo
if it wasn't Luton G I wouldn't believe it happened Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: pleno1 on January 26, 2010, 02:21:56 PM So sick how this guy gets a [?] Good wage - when he really as no idea about the job. If I was on the table no way would I be letting it be the final ruling either, even more so if I was in the hand.
Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: mouth on January 26, 2010, 02:23:18 PM Name the card room? Or am I right - is at a pub league? :)
Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: relaedgc on January 27, 2010, 10:53:44 AM The TD just made a stupendous cock up on the ruling owing to a misunderstanding of the change in raising that had been applied. It has been clarified. Sad that the dealers have to be the ones to explain the rules, but there you are. It shan't happen again.
Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: gatso on January 27, 2010, 11:20:17 AM did this really happen at luton?
Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: paulhouk03 on January 27, 2010, 12:35:15 PM In the td's defence
I have read that in some european countries they allow players to raise the same increments from small to big blinds. so if the blinds were 200/400 you could raise to 600 if you like Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: Drain Alien on January 27, 2010, 12:56:29 PM did this really happen at luton? YES it certainly did! Last nite at 1k/2k I tried to raise it to 700 but Geoge wouldn't let me; doh. I was hoping everyone would fold and I'd pick up the blinds. Title: Re: Live comp ruling Post by: gatso on January 27, 2010, 12:59:26 PM lol, I like that you tried to raise to less than the sb, shame it didn't work
I never cease to be amazed at things that happen at luton |
