Title: Spur of the moment day out Post by: Colchester Kev on January 26, 2010, 02:01:49 PM I have just decided that on Thursday (28th) I am going to hop on a train and sod off to London for the day ... Imperial war museum to be exact.

Firstly, the entrance to the Imperial war museum, Always impresses me, lovely building and the 2 x 15" guns outside are awesome. The inscription reads R V Steed Galley Boy SS Empire Morn 26th April 1943 Aged 14 years Raymond Victor Steed was just 14 years old when his ship hit a mine, he died with over 20 fellow crew members. he is the youngest recorded second world war service death. 14 years old ! .. It was when they had the James Bond/Ian Fletcher exhibition.
