Title: st8 flush draw
Post by: acc2020 on January 28, 2010, 01:33:13 PM
new to cash games

$0.10/0.20 6 handed everyone deepstacked

i call utg with  7h 8h, one more limper, button raises to $0.80 , me and limper call. $2.70 in pot

flop is  6h 9h Aspades

i flop st8 flush draw which i dont think i can fold , what is best way to proceed?

do i  (a) bet out , maybe winning the pot there and then , and probably win a small pot
       (b) wait for check raise knowing the button will at least represent the ace by betting out .I either win big or lose big
       (c) check call
       (d) any other options?

I actually check raised and all the money went in on the flop.I missed and he won with  Kd Ad. Not sure if it as the best way of playing this .I lost $21.60 instead i may have only lost $7 or 8 had i been less aggressive

When you say deepstacked, you mean about 100xBBs if you lost $21.60.  That's not a very deep stack, but it's not short-stacked definitely.

But with that flop, you're happy to get all your money in as you're favourite against AK, unless it's the AhKh where you're a 2 to 1 underdog.  You definitely want to see the next two cards.

this is not the way to be looking at it. you want all the money in on the flop as you're favourite against most hands. you're obv not always going to win but keep getting it in in this situation and it'll make you money longterm

playing less aggro so you only lose 7 or 8 bucks is akin to burning money, you limit your winnings a lot more than you limit your losses

and don't open limp preflop

Agree with Gatso on this. Either raise or fold pre, don't limp.

You're looking to hit big and get paid big with this type of hand so you don't want to be playing small ball by limping.

If you'd raised to $0.60 pre you may still get the limper but button's raise is probably $1.80 or so. You've then got a much better chance of getting it all in on this gin flop as all subsequent bets can be made bigger.

As played this is just a cooler. Nobody's folding tptk at this limit and your draw is too big to ever pass so it's all going in no matter what.

open or fold yo - probs fold - limp calling utg is pretty bad tbh.

after the flop your obv never folding...
