Title: Taking Chips away from the casino instead of cashing out (DTD) Post by: Sack it off on January 31, 2010, 08:32:34 AM I know in vegas alot of the big poker players take away $25k chips (cranberries) instead of carrying that many notes around with them.
I was wondering if you could do that in a casino in the UK (DTD to be specific). Tonight I cashed out £600 however I knew I would return soon and probably be buying chips again, so instead of cashing out the £100 chips I could just take them away and bring them back. Would it upset the security if people started bringing DTD chips into the club without buying them from the cashier? I know their is the option of the safe deposit boxes however if you had the chips already you could sit at the cash tables straight away without having to queue at the cashier. Is taking chips away a done thing, and is it ok to do it? Maybe Simon T could answer my question Title: Re: Taking Chips away from the casino instead of cashing out (DTD) Post by: bolt pp on January 31, 2010, 08:34:01 AM Tonight I cashed out £600

obviously they werent smiling when they tried to cash them in Title: Re: Taking Chips away from the casino instead of cashing out (DTD) Post by: bolt pp on January 31, 2010, 08:54:34 AM this reminds me of a story of an incident in aberdeen where a couple of players pocketed a few toruny chips as they were getting excorted of the premises, they went to a local lapdaning bar and the girls thought there boat had come in when they were getting paid in 100 and 1000 chips obviously they werent smiling when they tried to cash them in rotflmfao rotflmfao quality Title: Re: Taking Chips away from the casino instead of cashing out (DTD) Post by: Colchester Kev on January 31, 2010, 11:38:57 AM I have 3 x £1 DTD chips ... Title: Re: Taking Chips away from the casino instead of cashing out (DTD) Post by: Girgy85 on January 31, 2010, 12:55:25 PM Casinos must lose thousands of chips a year! When I went to star city and the crown casinos in Australia I brought home a chip from each as a momento! They were only $1 chips but i bet thousands either forget they still have them or just take them!

Best just to ask DTD if its ok. Title: Re: Taking Chips away from the casino instead of cashing out (DTD) Post by: Skippy on January 31, 2010, 01:54:33 PM I'm sure they'd be delighted if you walk away with chips, since they can get money on the interest on the cash they hold, and if you lose them, it's happy days for them.
I'd be double careful with DTD- if you found out that (say) they had sacked everyone, shut up shop and called the administrators in on Monday, it wouldn't be the biggest shock ever, would it? Not really as the more cash out in chips the more cash they have to have behind the cage which would increase their insurance premiums. Title: Re: Taking Chips away from the casino instead of cashing out (DTD) Post by: titaniumbean on January 31, 2010, 02:52:26 PM Make sure you steal the £1 chips because they cost more than a quid to make rotflmfao

Maybe Simon T could answer my question There is no reason why you can't do this , we are always short in chips especially £1 and £5 as players tend to collect them. DTD is a fully licenced casino and has to have all avenues covered just like everybody else, I'm sure this was just meant as humour? but just to clarify we have to keep a reserve account. Title: Re: Taking Chips away from the casino instead of cashing out (DTD) Post by: RichEO on February 02, 2010, 07:01:39 AM There's not much point, they have the quick deposit system at DTD, that is the best way.
But if you wanted to carry something round that you could cash in somewhere else (just in case), then an un-crossed casino cheque does the trick. |
