Title: Marginal preflop spot Post by: T_Mar on February 01, 2010, 12:40:13 PM Not very exciting but would like some thoughts on preflop action please
Table is six handed, 3 away from final.. Normally if I know I am going to be heads up in this situation (or have smaller stacks behind I would just shove here (had seen this player raise/fold <20bb stack already so dont think its unrealistic to see him fold a fair % of the time even though he only has 15bb, esp given we approaching final), but generally dont mind taking flip here and gambling for stack In this instance with players still behind with medium and large stacks should I be making same move or just folding? Title: Re: Marginal preflop spot Post by: Longy on February 01, 2010, 01:42:11 PM I would make it 8-9k and snap off everyone for stacks apart from the big stack. This is assuming the opener isn't a massive nit
Title: Re: Marginal preflop spot Post by: outragous76 on February 01, 2010, 01:48:41 PM this is very much a table/player specific dymanic set up.
You really need more info on the players behind - especially the BB who is the CL. I dont mind the raise to 8-9k - but the problem is you set up a very sweet spot for the BB to jam an reasonable holding which you cant really call. If the BB has been playing this spot really well, i could even fold here. If the BB has been playing his hands and not the spots - happy to raise to 9k and get in in against hte original raisers (and you are probably forced to call if anyone behind you wakes up with a hand).
