Title: blonde Poker Online: A future with DTDPoker
Post by: TightEnd on February 05, 2010, 11:26:23 AM
We're pleased to announce that we have agreed with DTDPoker a Super-affiliate agreement whereby blonde Poker will promote DTDPoker on its site/forum. Thus DTD will be, in the near future, the only long term associated card room, casino and online partner with blonde Poker.

As part of the agreement DTD is guaranteeing blonde Poker's operating costs and will also provide a monthly promotion fund for competitions/leagues on the DTD card-room for blonde players registered through our affiliate tag. In addition the agreement allows for a wider-scale resumption of our live updates not only at DTD but also at other UK events.

Shortly we'll roll out new banners and affiliate codes for players, if they have not done already, to sign up to DTDPoker through us. About 400 blonde Poker members are already signed up to DTDPoker through blonde, and those players just continue on as normal, with their play now contributing to the results of this venture.

We're delighted to have reached agreement with DTD. Our links with DTD are strong and we'll do our utmost to deliver a successful partnership.

Will answer any questions you have as we get to work on putting everything in place in the coming weeks.

Sounds good :)

With this signup affiliate tag thing. A lot of us already have DTD accounts. Will we receive the same benefits as new players to sign up?

Also, are DTD changing their software anytime soon?

Perfect partnership, I actually didnt expect this at all, I was concerned we would see 'Blonde partners with some random we have never heard of' but I think this is something everyone will be delighted with.

Very pleased for you and DTD, same software question as I have a major aversion to it unfortunately.

The software question: That's one for DTD to answer and I can ask them to do so. I know there are some negative views on it, as there are on a lot of platforms out there in the market.

Players who are signed up to DTDPoker already, but not via blonde. If that's the case your play is outside the scope of this venture. Not ideal, but unavoidable. That is of course not to say that you shouldn't play on the site and support DTD!

Well done guys - a great partnership/partnering arrangement

2 questions -

1. for those of us with existing dtd accounts (non blonde sign ups) - will our play benefit blonde - if not then can it?

2. I dont know how difficult it is for DTD to change things on their skin - but they could make some really simple adjustments to make it a site I would happiy play on. Can they, and are they open minded to doing this? We could open a suggestions for change thread and get it up to standard?

The above is meant as constructive feedback rather than criticism.

Good work guys

sigh edit - both answered before posting

Yes you do. If you need further details please PM me

That applies to all, if you are not sure if you are blonde tagged or not, please let me know and I can investigate.

Meanwhile new banners, tags etc will be up next week, I hope.

Second meanwhile, Kev is on his way up to update this weekend's Monthly deepstack. Would be great to see a busy update (though perhaps not for Kev!).

Will be down there tonight so hope to see a few Blondes later.

Updates

As you know the last year has been tricky for us with regard to updates. Our financial problems meant we had to temporarily stop all updates away from DTD, where DTD kindly were covering the costs of the updates at their own venue.

Whilst this enabled us to "stay afloat" not being on the update scene has proved costly. Updates create a buzz, bring in new members and extra traffic.

A really key part of what we've agreed with DTD is we are now able, thanks to them, to invest in our updates again. This could see some of our "original" updaters return to the fold, which I would welcome, alongside Kev, myself when available and new updaters.

If you'd like to update for blonde Poker then please PM me and let me know. The pay is crap, the hours are long etc etc but you know that!

We'll be working on ideas around the updates this month but we're thinking Videos, podcasts and real time chip graphs in addition to the written content you see on site. All of which would make our product more up to date, by adding some technology to what has always been our strength, the good content.

Yes all players tagged to blonde will receive 30% rakeback, in line with Boss network policies/limits, if they rake 100 Euro per month...the equivalent of 400FPPs

Rakeback is paid direct from Boss on 1st of the month for the previous month

When Bongo comes on we'll be putting the existing banners widely on the site and on this thread with new ones to follow shortly.

For now you can find them on the Live Tournament updates board.

Thanks in advance for signing up

If players aren't tagged to blonde will they be able to become so?

In particular IIRC there was a delay between DTD online launching and blonde having a deal in place, but I'm sure there are quite a few who signed up to DTD because of blonde, but not through blonde as a consequence of this.

Will you be able to prevent those infernal pop-ups from appearing ?

They tilted me so hard that I unregistered from Wednesday's satellite after the third appearance  ;technophobe;

They don't pop up like that when you're actually at the table Ralph. They're very small and don't interfere at all.

Out of interest, of the options you guys had was the DTD one the most financially appealing or was the fact that you know them and how they do business that swung it for you?

I presume you cant tell us about the other offers you had from other parties?

No I can't disclose other offers. There were other offers though, and about 8 expressions of interest in our "book"  that needed working through.

The fact that we know each other well and we can trust DTD was vital. It appears to me that for players and partners the issue of trust is pretty vital. This is especially true given our experience of the last year and of course there are well documented instances of "trust" issues elsewhere in the Online Poker Industry.

I think as this thread shows there is a general goodwill of blonde members towards us, and I know there is a goodwill to DTD because of the experience they've provided for players ands the battle they had to do that. Put both together, and hopefully we can convert that to a successful venture

When you've actually registered for a tourney in advance and are playing another table on a different network those reminders pop up and take you away from where you are working, well they do to me anyhow.

If there has been one thing I have learnt from this industry and also from your own experiences, is that knowing and trusting the people you work with is worth so much more than the promise of a pot of gold from someone you are not quite sure of.

The partnership makes so much sense, does this mean that we will see more blondepoker type stuff in the club? logos, blonde bashes and the like?

blonde bashes, certainly..but not on my immediate to do list. You could certainly envisage bashes at DTD, multiple events over the weekend, online satellites to the bigger buy-ins etc etc later in 2010. If they ever have a free enough weekend

Congrats on this. Should be good. I actually found blonde when I was searching for info on the DTD live club originally - the Rob Yong diary thread brought me in.

I signed up to the DTD site when the started offering live club buyins through it. I suspect I did not do this through blonde though :(.

And if future bashes are at DTD I won't be sorry (he says, living 5 miles from the place :)).
