Have a friend who taking a girl he known out for a while on a first date- for reasons that I wont post he wants to go completely over the top and go on the most ridiculous first date ever. I know people are going to post she wont like it but thats not for discussions am looking for ideas for him, no budget

Had something similar to this once myself - it was all very lovely - but if the bloke you're with has bad breath it's a non starter. Make sure you've cleaned your teeth and had a hair cut (all over if necessary) . No matter how much money you have she will stint on the snogging if you have spinach in your teeth. Just my opinion....

1) The fact you spent that much shows your a psycho or desperate however im guessing the majority of women would still wilt - if your going abroad youll need to get her passport

2) The second date presuming you get that far is either going to be a major letdown or your going to have to match the first date

my advice bin the bullshit , go out nice meal and a drink and be yourself if she likes you shell see you for a 2nd date if she doesnt spend the money on yourself and or your mates

Theatre in the afternoon, a cheesy musical is normally a ladies preference so something like Hairspray, followed by a meal at a Michelin starred restaurant. At this point, with themood set and a few drinks consumed suggest staying in town as an option, there are plenty of good hotels available last minute. Any pre booked hotel would send out the wrong single. Always suggest separate rooms on the first date. If the question is timed right and the day/evening has gone well the chances are the lady will say why waste money on two rooms. This point you agree. It's important to make her feel she is in control rather than it appearing you have orchestrated the end game.

Also anything to OTT for a first date like taking her to New York or Paris may scare her as much as it impresses her.
 

Why bother posting this, if you read OP you will see what I said. The actual question was for a propbet between 2 people I know, and im pretty sure they dont care how they come across its all harmless fun

They are trying to win a bet, not get married.

As it's a propbet and not an actual date tell her your take her shoe shopping. Then whisk her off to New York, buy her several pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes, book a room at the Plaza Hotel, Presidential Suite, $15,000 per night and repeat the original plan of theatre and Michelin starr restuarant, I recommend Thomas Kellers Per Se restaurant at the Time Warner Center in New York City.
