Title: How do people play this turn?
Post by: outragous76 on February 14, 2010, 03:31:21 PM
ok what do people prefer? (this is a rush hand but i dont think it matters)

1. getting them in here (is that playing too scared?)
2. flatting - then leading (to a non improved board)
3. flatting -  then check calling (on boad board)
4. flatting  - then check raising on good river?

Just get it in - he either has a made hand, set or slowplayed AA/KK and will call or he has a draw and prob won't bluff the river if he misses (because by calling you are repping a made hand).

btw I really don't think QJo is a prpfitable utg raise if full ring.

fold pre, bet bigger on flop, get it in on turn- no need to slowplay with no reads

I agree flop bet should be bigger, and just ship the turn

this, this and this

hate the utg raise 9 handed, bet size on flop is horrid

what are you trying to acheive betting 40% of the pot apart from pricing in the fd?

 dubai said it all.

flop needs to be bigger, there is tons he can peel with, we have the nuts....... re-raise turn.

edit it also matters that it's rush because it's a different game type. deffo fold pre.

i flopped the schnizzles - im happy to build the pot here

what if the guy has flopped a set?

i just dont think it is terrible - ok i can bet more - but do you really think he is folding if i bet 70% of the pot? I am also happy for him to raise any hand where he thinks I am weak leading

ii just dont think the word terrible was necessary

yeah, soz missed out half of my reply. please read it as

what are you trying to acheive betting 40% of the pot that betting bigger doesn't achieve apart from pricing in the fd?

you're right that you want to build the pot so build it, don't drip feed it

I prefer betting $3 on A84 rainbow than on this board. The reason you bet bigger is because opponents that call $3 will always call $5 on these boards, and you are v unlikely to induce bluff raises at these stakes, on this board in rush poker- so just bet big and get the maximum from his calling range which consists of a bundle of combos that he aint folding

fold pre,
as played bet 5 on flop,
as played $8 is fine
now jam.

So are you bet sizing dependent on hand strength or board texture?

titanium.........

in this instance my bet was thrown out to see if he had anything at all. people arent playing junk hands in rush from MP

lots of people raise/fold their marginal hands here - im happy for that to happen

to be honest betting 3 or 5 here just doesnt matter - because we arent getting it in on the turn unless he has a set (or wants to get it in with 2 overs and the flush draw)

anyway - im not bothered about my pre and post flop action in particular - like the title said, im really interested (especially given the stack sizes) as to the play on the turn.

also - what do people think is in the villains range given his actions?
