It actually sounds like it could be a good laugh if enough people are interested. All the training fees are included for the first year so it's very much a one off investment. If it's going to be expensive in year 2 then give it to Tom to stick in his field. I don't think this sort of thing is about making money tbh. It's more about a group of people getting together and following their very own horse. If it happens to make a few quid then brilliant. If not then as long as you get enjoyment from it even if that's just laughing at it every time it falls over then it's £10 per week well spent imo. Title: Re: Buy a share in a race horse! I'm guessing this is a two-year-old that's going to be trained op north? More details please. Never owned a horsey yet and a share in an early 2yo would be fun. It says his name on page 4 about half way down. Google his name and there are plenty of similar threads about him, some connecting him to poker but most connecting him to the TV programme he appeared on a couple of years ago. Did you know him then? Couple about his furniture shop burning down in 2004 as well. The second link wasn't about his colours, the search was the result of a search on his name as an owner. Title: Re: Buy a share in a race horse! Post by: pleno1 on February 19, 2010, 05:25:37 AM I just wanted to go to festivals and get drunk. I guess I can do that without a dodgy trainer. Would be good getting into something though, greyhound sounds super fun and I love betting on them too. gogogogo someone sort this. ktb.

Fwiw i dont wanna be one of those annoying nobs at racing who claim to "own" a horse, when on closer inspection its colours are white with black spots. Nah that's you getting confused with your Oedipus Complex - I'm still waiting to see the pictures of the Oz granny you diddled. Title: Re: Buy a share in a race horse! Title: Re: Buy a share in a race horse! Post by: GreekStein on February 19, 2010, 10:14:20 AM I think everyone should just go ahead and buy the horse as planned.
I mean if this Adrian Swingler dude tried anything on Barry would definitely hunt him down, (tell him about the dilemma he is currently having with his next door neighbours that are devaluing the price of his house by their presence) and then obv bash the guy about a bit. he was talking to me the other day at dtd ,and i just mentioned that a friend of mine wouldnt mind owning a horse (sindicated},he told me that richard guest had a few horses for sale .the rest you know about . as for coming on here and slating him off when he isnt here to defend himself. i know many men who owe millions through bisunes but have assets in other peoples names . adrian is a man who i have seen lend thousands to people when we was in vegas a few years ago . he was just pointing us in the right direction ,the was nothing to do with him ,it was going to be bought off richad guest. Suggesting people get involved with Mr Richard Guest, as innocently as Adrian will have intended it, hardly counts as "pointing people in the right direction". Title: Re: Buy a share in a race horse! because i am not bothered about owning a horse. i just think it a bit unfair when people know so little about adrian . Title: Re: Buy a share in a race horse! It's actually libel Barry if you're hoping to take these posters to court for casting dispertions against your's or either of the aforementioned plaintiff's characters. It's actually asperions not dispertions. And libel/slander are two of the hardest things to prove in a court of law. To sue for either you have to prove you have damaged that person's good character. BTW who actually said anything damaging about Adrian? I didn't see anything derogatory, just a few links to interesting articles. Why would you see it as slander barry? If you know he's a good guy that's all that matters surely? Title: Re: Buy a share in a race horse! Post by: vinni on February 19, 2010, 06:45:03 PM wtf ,this is hilarious.

Neil, I like this guy alot: http://www.jamesgivenracing.com/ Shouldn't be too expensive, very good judge of a horse (runs them in the right races), is a qualified vet (so should cut down on vets fees), was a pupil of the master - Mark Johnston and is supposed to be very good with owners. I reckon you'd have alot of fun with a horse with him. Title: Re: Buy a share in a race horse! First of all Barry asked me how much a racehorse would cost, I said with the contacts I have I could sort him out a very good deal. It is very difficult to make money out of horses, I know most trainers, jockeys, breeders etc there is only a handful that are successful my experience of racing is one of falling in love with the sport, getting ripped off by many people in it, and costing me a lot of money. Mistakes? hey but if you have some intelegance you should learn by them. The package which Richard Guest/Future Racing was offering does not make them or me money, training fees are more than that but if you have a lot of unsold or company owned horses any income is better than none, also getting new people involved in a stables is good for the stables and for racing. Kames Park is currently trained for free, but I give them the prize money for its upkeep, won £2000 tonight, £5000 last week offered Barry that on the same £11k deal, could win its next 3, could never win again that's racing. I have learnt that I can still have fun and enjoy racing without it costing me £200K a year, if that makes me a want to be racehorse owner who does not have horses run in his own colours. I honestly am not bothered. As for Richard Guest, yes he has a bad reputation but when I set him on at Pinewood Racing after hearing his story I believed he deserved another chance and gave him it, I also have horses with other trainers some of whom I have more success with. This was just a one off deal offered to Barry, if anyone would like to visit the stables etc then Barry can arrange that, I am mot interested I get enough hassle at poker matches about the way I play without getting abuse about people betting on three legged racehorses. Adrian Title: Re: Buy a share in a race horse! Post by: mouth on February 19, 2010, 08:39:06 PM Hi Adrian
Are you related to the Adrian Swingler who was groundsman at Catterick racecourse? Title: Re: Buy a share in a race horse! Post by: Bedtime on February 19, 2010, 08:51:58 PM No,
not at all, it is a rare name but no relation. I do agree with Tk that this is not the place to buy a racehorse and I would only recommend buying one to people who have money to burn. It is a bit like the ups and downs of poker, the best thing is the early evening meetings in summer at Ripon, Thirsk, etc. It is a great lifestyle when you are having results, but it is 1000 times worse when nothing goe's right and everone at the stables is suicidal.
