Title: Ashley Cole Thread
Post by: Maxriddles on February 16, 2010, 12:15:22 AM
Can't believe there's no thread on Ashley Cole's latest misdemeanor, has been a pretty hot topic. There is betting on Cheryl Cole's first date on Paddy Power if they do split, well worth a look for com but little other value.

[  ] Ashley thought up his excuse all by himself
[x ] He really thought he'd get it through
[x ] Vernon Kay and JT are grateful Ashley has took the heat off a bit
[  ] Anyone other than Ashley thought he'd get it through

kay sent some dirty text messages, cole sent some dirty photos, not to each other. not really that interesting, would be nice if journos wrote about actual news for once

because he is (allegedly) gay - it can be the only explanation!

he is a c0ck anyway - id be delighted if she dumped him and he misses the world cup.

Jouranlists doing a good job of wrecking the england team before the world cup - that doesnt happen very often eh?

if you are asking me about ashley cole specifically then it doesnt (IMO - made that point in the Engalnd left back thread - although i guess he is good)

If you are asking me about generally, press intrusuion into players personal lives just before a world cup is hardly what they need. They dont need distractions prior to the biggest tournament of their lives

Dealing with the press and their digging, is pretty high on the job description of a top class professional footballer.
If 100K+ a week isn't enough incentive to give 100%, ...there's a hell of a  queue behind you.

thats got nothing to do with whether it affects you or not

if your private life was on the front page of every tabloid - and you happen to have cheated on the nations sweetheart - im thinking that playing at the top of your game is going to be a little more difficlut than if the whole nation is behind you and on a high

if you are disputing the above then you are a metantailst

LOL @ blaming the tabloids .... blame the fkin idiots that cant stay faithful to their wives ffs !!

It isn't the tabloids fault, I know football players on the whole are as thick as pig shit, but they all know that any transgressions in their private lives will be front page news.

So they either stress about being front page news, or stress that they MIGHT be front page news if some old slapper sells them out.... Just keep it in your pants and you have no worries....  Concentrate on football and the world cup if you really give a shit, and do not try and use the tabloids as an excuse for failure.

If you're going to use your marriage to raise your public profile to make you more money then you'd better make sure that if you shag any hairdressers/secretaries behind your wife's back that they're going to keep quiet about it.

Because (sweeping generalisation alert) I would imagine that women who sleep with very famous and famously married footballers are probably more likely than a random woman to sell their story to a newspaper.

Please don't get me wrong I'm not defending the prick

But this happens every world cup and for much less. The treatment of bobby robson springs to mind, trying to wreck the spirit of the euro 96 squad just cause they went on a pre tourney blow out

We should rally behind them at world cup time, not try to find meaningless stories.

Flushy as for protecting the players at world cup time, yes I'm sure they try, but not sure that is possible with modern media availability

"We should rally behind them at world cup time, not try to find meaningless stories. "

I think the majority of the public and all football fans are, it's just the tabloids.

People like Cole, Terry et al should just respond with a 'that's the way I roll', rather than get stressed. Pretty sure they're not very stressed in reality and doubt it affects their football.

How it's news that 'youthfully married bloke is a sideline shagger' I don't really know. And Cheryl Cole is way too bony and narcissistic to keep any mans attention on a perma basis imo

John Terry and his missus sure looked concerned when they flew back into the UK yesterday.

There's putting on a united front, there's also a were used to this bullshit front.
